Any tips on a screen? I've looked at these so far. http://www.webhallen.com/se-sv/hardvara/162450-asus_pb278q_27-5ms-hdmi-pls-2560x1440 http://www.webhallen.com/se-sv/hardvara/159511-dell_tft_u2713hm-27-8ms-hdmi-ips
I'd go for the Ultrasharp 2713HM. I use a 2713H, which has some different ports (including DP chaining) and has full AdobeRGB gamut, not just sRGB. But as long as the 2713HM has the same warranty - zero dead or bright pixels - I'd go for it.
i always leave protective films on as long as i can
I wanted to keep it on but someone said that it was super stupid to keep it on. Everyone else disagreed.
i had the protective film around the screen on my old laptop on for about 2 years, until a friend ripped it off :suicide:
if you want a screen protector don't use the one that's only designed for packaging [editline]5th December 2013[/editline] also where is an imac going to go where it's open to the elements that could even scratch it
I wanted to keep it on but someone said that it was super stupid to keep it on. Everyone else disagreed.
That film there covers the entire machine. So the fans are covered as well. I actually heard a story somewhere about a user who cooked their brand new iMac that way, and got several replacements before the store figured out what was happening :v:
I always rip the protective film right off, it annoys me so badly :() whenever I see someone else having left it on I get this feeling that I must kill it :V

The sticky part was right behind the outer corner screen parts. It's the new thin imacs and it doesn't cover the fans at all.
Today I overheard a conversation in a computer store, the staff member was talking about backups to a customer It was along the lines of "Raid 1 is good for backups"
If I really really reached, I guess I understand how to a layman it could be seem as a "backup" for all your data as all your data is instantly being mirrored on both drives, in effect creating what could be considered a "backup."

But that's more redundancy than a real backup.
I wouldn't fault some minimum wage college kids for not knowing that is the point.

So holy shit I got an interview to be a sysadmin / operations analyst, I might actually have a shot at this Speaking of which, does anyone have any tips for material to brush up my skills and revise with for the inevitable pop quiz? We're talking RAID, server config, windows server, RHEL, SAN, ESX, etc at medium / large business level
So I got my hands on an all in one with a power brick that was stuffed, check out my amazing wiring! It's pulling like 200 watts through a connector designed for 75.
Yeah, but this is a persistent rumour: https://www.google.dk/search?q=amd+to+stop+making+cpus&oq=amd+to+stop+m&aqs=chrome.2.69i57j0l5&sourceid=chrome&espv=210&es_sm=93&ie=UTF-8 Even though their recent roadmap didn't seem to include an upgrade for Piledriver, I won't jump on it until we hear something official, or at least something from major sites like Anandtech and Tomshardware.
I'm just worried that Haswell-E will be overpriced when it's released compared to the current gen Ivy-E CPUs, as I'm looking at moving on from this 2.5 year old i7 970. But I suppose it wouldn't matter anyway as the "-E" line isn't really competing AMD CPUs.
Well I got a working Arch install in a round-about way. Installed Manjaro Linux and then changed all the repo's and mirrors over to Arch ones and now it's basically Arch completely with no package freezing at all.
