Clementine is a pretty nice media player, i didn't know you could use spotify and soundcloud and other things like drop box and gdrive for music.
We've gone and killed the thread I think.
So bitcoins lost like half their value today or something
Looks like they dropped about ~$150
Got this from my teacher today, pretty neat
So bitcoins lost like half their value today or something
20% drop in the last 24 hours. I'm not terribly worried.
bitcoin sale 20% off get em while they're hot
20% drop in the last 24 hours. I'm not terribly worried.
20%? On Mt. Gox, at least, they dropped from $1200 to $700. That's closer to 50% than 20%.
It's hard to get a good estimate with all the jitter, but 24 hours ago it was about a stable(lol stable bitcoins) $1000 and now it's $750. And mtgox is a really bad measure of the market, it's almost impossible to get USD out so the prices there don't match the rest of the market. http://bitcoinity.org/markets/bitstamp/USD

But then again it's a 5:1 macro lens. The Canon MP-E 65mm f/2.8. Hey, cameras and their lenses are hardware too... right? :v: [editline]7th December 2013[/editline] This is a particularily small flower fly btw. Those yellow balls are pollen.
anyone here who know how to get around really strict firewalls? I've been switching VPNs for the past 3 weeks because one after one, they stop working (I suspect my stepfather is attempting to block it, no idea how he does it). I started with Cyberghost which didn't work at all, moved on to StrongVPN which worked for a while before not working again, tried hidemyass which I couldn't connect to at all, neither with PPTP, L2TP or OpenVPN. I switched recently to VyprVPN which was fantastic. excellent speeds, unlimited server switches, everything was just awesome with it. now that isn't working either. it must be my stepfather who keeps blocking them somehow because they can't just stop working out of the blue. I decided to move onto Mullvad yesterday and guess what, it worked for like 10-20 minutes before I never could connect again. I'm honestly at loss. I feel incredibly naked without a VPN to encrypt my traffic considering he is monitoring my connection and blocking way too many things. this is an advanced firewall we're talking about, atleast judging from the price. it's a paloalto firewall which cost him around 3260$, twice the price of my own desktop.
is there nothing else I can do regarding this problem? really desperate, I need something which works
is there nothing else I can do regarding this problem? really desperate, I need something which works
Talk to your stepdad about it...?
Talk to your stepdad about it...?
it's impossible to talk to him. things go his way, no matter how much sense your arguments make. I remember when we got the firewall and I pointed out a few flaws and asked how it worked, and he got so worked up about it and kept bugging me about how awesome it was.
why does he have a block up in the first place? start by working from the root of the problem
no clue, it must be something which has stuck onto him from when I was younger and when it made more sense to block stuff. not only that, but he wants full control and wants to be able to monitor the families connection. he has even installed a certificate on everyones PC in the house just so he can monitor HTTPS and that secure traffic
That sounds kind of fucked up tbh
go talk with him and ask him why he doesn't trust you or your family, etc...and that you want some privacy
I'll try, but I'll have to wait until he gets home. I don't have high hopes of that working out so it would be nice to have a few alternatives until then or if he doesn't agree to lighten up the firewall [editline]7th December 2013[/editline] of course if there are any alternatives, I'm starting to wonder if it's impossible to get around it
dunno if you already did this but you could try ssh tunneling, it's what I use to get around my school's block
To be honest, you are doing really damn well not having the urge to punch your stepdad right in the face. I would get really pissed off when my dad would decide to get up such a firewall. I imagine my brother will be completely restless and do whatever he can to make sure we have our privacy and freedom back. On the other record, why don't you use a WLAN connection of someone in your neighborhood? Must be someone there which connection you can leech.
dunno if you already did this but you could try ssh tunneling, it's what I use to get around my school's block
well, I tried airvpn's ssh tunneling but it was reaaally confusing to me so I gave up [editline]7th December 2013[/editline] also, I was pretty sure you couldn't block VPN's completely? not really all that important but it would be cool to know if anyone knew what exactly he might be doing to block it

honestly the only realistic long-term solution is to talk it out with your dad
gonna have to give that a go I suppose. gonna be harsh, but hopefully it'll clear some things up. [editline]7th December 2013[/editline] also, I removed the certificate from my own computer so he shouldn't be able to monitor stuff like passwords and usernames in login forms, right? what about sites which aren't https but just regular http?

Look up a bunch of really fucked up porn and see if he brings it up
Look up a bunch of really fucked up porn and see if he brings it up
that's so stupid that it might actually work
