ATi should stop trying to make a new card and instead make sure they have enough stock of the 5800 series, all the UK e-tailers have it on pre-order.

So even less materials for the already hard-to-find 5870's and 5850's.

umm.... what?
It's not like they can create a million of them in a blink of the eye.
its not the consumers, its that they didn't order enough wafers
if you actually read the news
(^ not you)

Didn't they say, Like, less the 10% of the cards would reach us buyers?
Didn't they say, Like, less the 10% of the cards would reach us buyers?
Yes dell bought 90% of them.
Cracks are showing in my 9800GX2, but not enough to upgrade. Yet.
Yes dell bought 90% of them.
Wait. Dell is going to start selling computers with 5970s in them?
God it's impossible to find a 5850 or 5870 anywhere.
Good thing I already got my 5870.

Are you referring to the 5770 I won? The contest is void in New York so I can't get the card.
Why all the New York hate
[editline]10:11PM[/editline]
Is it because baseball teams?

that game was intense.
bitch got hit in the hand and then a homerun, holy shit.
That's almost as big as a full-length PCI controller card. Actually it might even be the same size...
Time to buy an e-ATX case.
The official specs for a full length EISA/ISA or PCI card is 12" or a foot, this card is out of spec by an inch and some change. An extended ATX case won't help you with card length, it's only designed for a full sized ATX board instead of the 2/3 or less sized boards that are usually in the mainstream market.
Most normal desktop and tower case designs (bar the small form factors) are designed to accommodate 12" cards (and usually have PCB brackets on the front of the case if they do.)
My HD5870 is like 11.75" and it only has like 2mm of clearance space before it hits the drive cage.
Well, at least one of these could fit in my fish-tank PC. :v:
Could probably *probably* fit in my Windtunnel too, but I'm too lazy to pull the side off and check ATM.

I'm getting two 5870s in the mail tomorrow.
Edit:
Haha at people making assumptions and then calling me dumb when they don't even know why I am getting two. Silly people and their silly assumptions.

NO WAY REALLY?
AFAIK the final production version will be max 12.3” / 31.2cm
What case is that?
AFAIK the final production version will be max 12.3” / 31.2cm
Really? That would actually fit in my HUSH without sawing the HDD bay in half.
idk why everybody is wondering if it is going to git since your motherboard is like 10 inches wide most case have 3 inches to spare after the motherboard. At least mine does.
