27X, after looking at the Silencer Mk 2 650w on the PC P&C website, The most wattage I would get would be around 550. I am not paying 130 dollars for a 550w PSU.
Enermax. You pay a lot but their higher end power supplies put out a lot more power than they advertise.
I'll check it out. [editline]11:30PM[/editline] Y'know what, instead, why don't I just post the build and someone tell me the minimum PSU I would need. Just keep it under $150. http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=11875971

Are Lead Power PSU's good? I've had one for 2 years, and I'm just curious.

Coolermaster OCZ Corsair Are the top price to performance
The one I posted above has a single 12v rail at 52amps, which seems good and has 85% efficiency. That would give me a solid 530w.
Are Lead Power PSU's good? I've had one for 2 years, and I'm just curious.
after 2 years, it's generally an alright PSU.
Watts = Amps x Volts [editline]10:11PM[/editline] Take the amps, convert them to watts, multiply by the efficiency, and voila, you have your PSU wattage output.
Do you calculate just the 12V rails? Or do you include the 5V and 3.3V?
Corsir Coolermaster Ocz
Corsir Coolermaster Ocz
Yeah Corsir is very good, but not as good as Corsair.
Do you calculate just the 12V rails? Or do you include the 5V and 3.3V?
all of them for total wattage
Do you calculate just the 12V rails? Or do you include the 5V and 3.3V?
Yeah, just the 12v rails, it gives you a rough example of what you are going to get, but if you do calculate the 5v and the 3.3v you get a more exact amount. [editline]04:35PM[/editline] http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817207002&cm_re=xfx_psu-_-17-207-002-_-Product Or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171053 [editline]04:36PM[/editline] I kinda prefer the XFX one because I can get a combo which includes a 955 and knocks $35 dollars off of it.
Do you calculate just the 12V rails? Or do you include the 5V and 3.3V?
It's not like 5V and 3.3V matter. The only thing those power are low-power things like hard drives and PCI cards. The 12V rail(s) handle the CPU and GPU.

So which one should I get.
do you want modular and a couple extra PCI power connectors but less power on the 12V rail, or more power on the 12V rail [editline]09:01PM[/editline] imo i would get the XFX
I don't really mind, I have a NV690 so even if I do have extra I can hide them. Also, I plan on doing an SLI, so more than 2 connectors is not needed.
I have the GX 750W by the way and it is a great PSU, does 4890 Crossfire easily
That one I was looking at because its got more wattage at a lesser price. The XFX one I was considering just because of the color and how I am going with the green look to things. But overall, I'd pick the GX 750, I'd rather have more power in the future for upgrades. Sucks that its not modular though.

What case is that? Looks like a HAF-X.
690 ii.
ironic that odellus has crossfire but he always says it's not worth it
ironic that odellus has crossfire but he always says it's not worth it
gives me more problems than it's worth considering my minimum FPS is still the same because my Q9400 is a bottleneck but yeah, as you can see, cable management isn't bad at all, although it's probably easier with the XFX PSU
ironic that odellus has crossfire but he always says it's not worth it
ironic how you never read his posts to notice that the reason he says that is because he does have crossfire and believes that its not worth the cost.
690 ii.
Heh, so I take it has good cable management. Did you have to do any modding?
Heh, so I take it has good cable management. Did you have to do any modding?
none at all
Cooler Master cases generally have good cable management systems
