Kay, you can fit any full-height graphics card.
Without knowing how weak/strong your PSU is, I'd suggest this:

4 hours before him and $5 cheaper.
damn! thats nice. This is defiantly the card.
Just read. With this card, you can run crysis at max settings with a average high of 15fps. DAMN!!
With his setup. You may exceed his performance, or you may not come anywhere near it.

The card I posted is A LOT better. If you're willing to change PSUs out.
Not to mention it costs twice as much.
[editline]11:15PM[/editline]
Without including the cost of the PSU.
Wierd... they are the exact same specs
Radeon HD 4670[spacer777]512MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card - Retail
Radeon HD 4670 IceQ Turbo 512MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Retail
[editline]03:18AM[/editline]
but the blue one is slightly more expensive, and has better reviews.
Yeah, the HIS is overclocked by a whopping 30MHz.
The one I posted supports Crossfire (If your mobo supports crossfire, which it probably doesn't), and has a 30 MHz higher clock. The higher clock is where the extra $5 comes in.

Yeah... i know, and I'm not trying to undermine you, but if I'm gonna rebuild my entire computer, I'm on a budget of $200 than i need to use something that has a better price:performance ratio.
are you sure your x1600 is pci-e and not agp
Yeah I checked earlier to make sure. its pci-e.
[editline]03:28AM[/editline]
I think most, if not all, ATI cards are pci-e.
Yeah... i know, and I'm not trying to undermine you, but if I'm gonna rebuild my entire computer, I'm on a budget of $200 than i need to use something that has a better price:performance ratio.
The 4870 has a fine ratio. If you're going to do a complete overhaul, then I advise you to save up a lot more than $200.

Well... he said his budget was $200, so I went for a setup that costs that much.
are you sure your x1600 is pci-e and not agp
Also I meant to ask this.
lol, no. PCI-E has only been the standard for a few years. Before that, everything was AGP and before that everything was PCI.
Yeah I checked earlier to make sure. its pci-e.

no ATI makes agp cards I think nvidia stopped with the 8 series agp

:silent:
Oh okay so I guess ATI just recently started developing cards or something.
no ATI makes agp cards I think nvidia stopped with the 8 series agp
Nvidia's last AGP cards were the 7 series, but some OEMs made PCI 8400s and possibly, I can't remember 9400s.

Yes. 9400s are PCI.
I only said that because all the graphics cards I've had have been ATI. And I've had the same motherboard for a while.

I wasn't trying to do a complete overhaul, you guys just kept telling me how much i needed too.
And I'm gonna get a job once i get back to VA, So more shit will come later.
[editline]02:05PM[/editline]
If i get the graphics card, will it even fit in the computer correctly? Is stuff gonna get in the way?

Never build a new computer one piece at a time. You're just throwing your money away.
If i get the graphics card, will it even fit in the computer correctly? Is stuff gonna get in the way?
That's always a possibility. Get the measurements of the card, pop open your case and tape it out.
So, if i get that graphics card, and it doesn't fit correctly on my Mobo, since the CPU would have the be in the EXACT same place, would i just have to get a whole new tower?
New Specs (yay)
processor: intel pentium d cpu 2.8GHz
RAM: 4024 megabits
system model: optiplex gx620
Graphics card: Radon 4650
Power supply: Dell 305 watts
Now, I'm fucked, I need a power supply that can actually Fit in my tower, or i need a safe way to modify it so I can get a new PSU.
Anyone know how to use some sort of tool to make the slot for the power supply bigger?
305W is enough for a 4650 IMO.
System Requirements
350 Watt or greater power supply (500 watt for ATI crossfire technology in dual mode) is recomended.
Son.

I am disappoint.
Tell that to the left hand side of the box.
Also, are their any known problems with Corsair brand RAM?
A) They overestimate so people won't bitch at them about how their 300W PSU doesn't power their 4670 and 115 hard drives. Tell the left side of the box to look at Anandtech's actual power measurements.
B) Corsair makes great RAM.
Awesome. Hey, you like WoW?
Tell that to the left hand side of the box.

No.
No.
Awesome. Hey, you like WoW?
Nope.
I'm not a big fan of the MMO genre, although I might might MIGHT consider playing EVE Online eventually.
Anyone want a WoW 14 day trial?
Tell that to the left hand side of the box.

the box is for people who maybe running say 2/3 HDD's quad, 4/6dimms of ram external cards, fans all that jazz you are fine
[editline]01:48AM[/editline]
Oh your card may run a tad hot due to it being flipped wrong side, just adjust the fanspeed in CCC
okay, had some problems getting the new rig started. Finally in VA with my new and improved computer.
Now I just gotta play a game and see the difference in speed.
