Fuck, now I see why they didn't allow to use the device during sync before, everything starts to lag.
it's probably just the first version of the wifi sync
i dont think the one on the cydia store lags when you sync
On the advert thing for iOS5 it says 'It's years ahead of it's time'.
I think they meant a year behind
xd its funny because android is 1000% better!!!!!
Damn it. I was hoping there would be a mix of notifications. Some things like Facebook I don't care about, but other things like "Can't connect to Carrier network" would stay as a modal window
That appears to be an application specific settings window I think? So I guess you can have different notification types for different apps/things.
There's a hidden Apple logo in the newsstand :v:
Does the iCloud stuff let you download films again? It's the single download thing that puts me off getting films (and music but that is fixed)from iTunes.
-snop-
So how is it I activate iOS5 on my iPad without the weather app? I've not tried it yet but I want to know before I start messing about

Does it have..uh..stocks?
To be honest, I'm not sure if you actually need to do the workaround for iPod's and iPad's. My problem was that it wasn't finding a network so it wouldn't let me continue (which was odd), but I magically ended back up in the setup somehow and was able to continue.
So worst case scenario is download iTunes 10.5 so you *can* downgrade :v:
So iTunes 10.5 can downgrade an iOS 5 device successfully? If I do get someone to add me to their dev account I want to be able to go back to iOS 4.3 if Apple somehow crack down on people just adding people to their dev accounts so they can use the beta.
Update to iOS5 and lose jailbreak or Keep the jailbreak and stay on iOS4. That is the question.
Oh, no weather app on the iPad means you can't do this? That sucks.

Keep the jailbreak, you'll wish you did.

I'm telling you, just try it without. You don't need UDID activation with iPod/iPads because there's no connection to check if your UDID is registered or not. I didn't get my UDID registered and I didn't have to do the workaround on my iPod. You *can* downgrade.
So what you're saying is pretty much restore the device with the ispw and there's nothing that gets in the way for the iPad? Wouldn't there be a connection if I connected to wifi?
It checks immediately after the boot process (or at least it used to be like that), so I don't think so.
I'm not sure if that's exactly why but I didn't have to get my UDID registered and I'm on iOS 5.
Eh. I'll wait until the method becomes more popular and use others as guinea pigs, because I'm not even 100% sure if I want to lose my jailbreak yet.
I tried updating my iPad to iOS 5 and I keep getting error 3002. No idea what that means so I'm just gonna leave iOS 5 until it is released
You should remove everything Apple related from your "hosts" file.

Also, somehow I managed to get my Messages app inside the newsstand.

^gg. Also yeah I did have gs.apple.com blocked in my hosts file, but now that I've taken it out it still isn't working. :(

Got iOS 5 on my iPad! But now i have the same problem as everyone else and can't get out the set up screen haha. Does anyone know a way around this or should I just pay for a dev account/UDID slot and do it properly?
Anyone willing to link my UDID with their dev account? :buddy:
Hopefully a jailbreak comes out soon. I miss some of my extended functionality, but seeing as most of it was replaced with the new notification center I'm okay until the jailbreak comes out. A new exploit has to be found, too, I've heard the old way to get an untethered jailbreak working was fixed.

Thanks! funny enough I just found his website from TLD's youtube like an hour ago!
I bet this will make my iPhone 3G even more unusable. For a company that prides themselves in simple to use devices, Apple sure as shit don't like keeping their "old" devices compatible and as smooth as day 1 do they? IOS4 ruined the performance on my phone, taking some tweaking through jailbreak to partially fix.

i agree, its fucking ridiculous that i have to use virtual ram to make the device responsive again

It's not supported on the 3G anyway. So you don't have much to worry about. :v:
Am I only one getting a glitch on 10.5 where Ping hides the song list?
This isn't exactly about iOS5 but it's semi-related: does Apple plan on releasing another iPhone some time soon (say, before September)? They haven't made any announcement about a new iPhone and have only been giving information on the iCloud and features of iOS5, but I don't think they'd skip a year for updating their line.

:argh: Right in the features. That hurt apple.
Don't get yourselves hyped up too much guys.
There are no apps updated for iOS 5 yet, so notification center is pretty much useful for email and weather. There are also quite a number of bugs, and for some reason my keyboard is typing the key next to the one I want.
ALL GONEEE
