By the way, Beta 2 is much more stable and improved.
Agreed. Seems so much more polished.
i would still like to have my UDID registered please [editline]28th June 2011[/editline] :buddy:
Me too if it ain't too much of a hazzle.
Anyone got the new beta 3?
Anyone got the new beta 3?
I got it last night. Seems a lot more stable.
How do I sign up for the Beta 3? Also does it cost money, and do I need warranty?
You need your UDID registered. If you ask around on a forum you may be able to get someone to register yours, or as a last resort you can usually buy registration on ebay for less than $5. Once you're registered, you download the new iTunes 10.5 beta 3 and the correct firmware for your iPhone/iPod/iPad. Then you open iTunes and shift-click the restore button and click the firmware. Provided everythings gone fine you will now be running the new beta.
How is beta 3? And btw, the 3GS will get improved camera app. But there won't be HDR, auto-enhance or anything that requires power.
If we have a dev account, where do we go to register our UDID? And does doing a shift-restore wipe your device to factory?
Not sure about the dev registration thing, but if you shift-restore it does make it factory settings but provided you backed up first you can restore everything from the backup.
It's how they make a lot of their money. Make users feel they're missing out on new features so they upgrade.
I have this weird problem in iOS 5 Beta 3 where when i finish typing a line of text in SMS, i hit space and it doesn't work. Submitted a bug report to apple though.
Does anyone have the iPhone 4 GSM ipa? I can't seem to extract the dmg successfully on windows.
Do you mean the ipsw? Why don't you just find a zipped version online?
I'm trying to downgrade from iOS 5 to iOS 4, but when I try, I'm getting error 1603. I'm using Windows 7 on iTunes 10.5 Beta 3 (I think) and iOS 5 Beta 1 (not upgrading)
uninstall itunes, install the itunes 10.5 beta 1 and try from that.
My dev account has expired, would anyone be kind enough to add me? Cheers
uninstall itunes, install the itunes 10.5 beta 1 and try from that.
I get the same error for every version [editline]26th July 2011[/editline] Right now it's in restore mode and I need to get it out or I can't use it
Is it safe to test iOS5 from a jailbroken 3rd gen iPod with iOS4 installed?
Backup, restore from the ipsw and it'll be fine.
Anyone got a spare UDID spot? If so I'd really appreciate getting the chance to play with this :)
This is why I like iOS5. [t]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3291695/photo.PNG[/t]
I hate hearing this bullshit about the 3GS not being "fast enough" to have new features, It uses the same CPU and GPU as the iPhone 4, but underclocked, It isn't a hardware problem either as there are tweaks to enable native HDR on the 3GS
No it seriously doesn't. The iPhone 4 uses a stripped down Samsung Hummingbird CPU running at 800MHz from stock 1GHz with a powerVR SGS 535. This is branded as the A4 by apple. The 3GS uses a Samsung APL0298C05 running at 600MHz opposed to 833MHz with a PowerVR SGS 535. It is not a Hummingbird core and has none of the performance enhancements to the Cortex-A8 architecture that Samsung and Intrinsity made for the Hummingbird.
Is anyone else having trouble with album art and duped albums?
I keep having issues with iOS 5 Beta 3 installation. It keeps giving me "Error 20", and no amount of troubleshooting seems to fix it. Any help?
