so do you want the "holo only" /r/android style reply, or a normal one?
TouchWiz Normal hey hey hey no stop no STOP STOOOOP or wait was that sarcasm [editline]3rd March 2013[/editline] So uh this is a real rom WHY
WHY
Some people like the look of TouchWiz, especially people coming from TouchWiz to CM/AOKP who feel uncomfortable with just holo. Honestly TouchWiz doesn't look bad at all so I don't understand why you're having a whinge. I still prefer Holo myself.
Well I signed up for my new phone plan today. Unlimited text and calls within Australia. $300 worth of international and roaming. With 4GB of data. As well as better coverage. I can finally use my Nexus 4 without worrying about using all my data and having a phone bill, $20 over!
I cycle with my phone in my pocket so I can play my music through my sweet M16P in-ears How exactly did yours fall out? [editline]3rd March 2013[/editline] Or be ABAP like me and have a carbon fiber casing [t]http://i.imgur.com/rhCN6JM.png[/t]
Bmxing I've done it for years fine with every phone, it's just today I didn't put it in my pocket properly, hopped up a curb and *smack, kkckcckkdk* *turn around* "...." [editline]4th March 2013[/editline] I only bother wearing jeans with really deep pockets to accommodate my phone and iPod, so normally there is not even the smallest chance it's going to fall out, unless I go down to the skatepark in which case I hide it in my bag
WHY
Isn't selling Samsung's stuff without their permission kinda illegal?
Isn't selling Samsung's stuff without their permission kinda illegal?
No OEM seems to want the backlash, because the people that flash AOSP based ROMs are generally extremely entitled when it comes to crap like this. [editline]4th March 2013[/editline] Not to be generalizing, but a lot of people that are AOSP or bust are generally the type of people that think it's their right to do stuff like include a Dropbox APK ripped from a GS3 ROM to get 50 gigs free for two years even if they don't have a GS3.
I'm going to sound like an idiot, but, am I able to root my Nexus 4 without unlocking the boot loader for it? I know it was possible with my Transformer prime (Yes I know it is a different device entirely). I couldn't find a definitive answer on Google.

I'm on the Vaya $11/m plan and it seems to be working out really well for me.
Who are you with? I'm on the Vaya $11/m plan and it seems to be working out really well for me.
Going with vaya's $29 plan. What is the coverage and 3g speeds like? I've heard that they are good.
Going with vaya's $29 plan. What is the coverage and 3g speeds like? I've heard that they are good.
It uses the Optus network so pretty shit. Better than Vodafone but worse than Telstra. If I were you I'd go on the $30 Kogan plan. Unlimited calls/SMS + 6GB data and it uses the Telstra lines (epic reception)

Also didn't fancy using prepaid. One thing that I do need though is reception on my friends farm, which according to one of my friends on optus, they get there. Whereas there isn't any Telstra reception.
putting a screen protector on my nexus 4 was probably one of the most stressful things i've done in my life
Applying screen protectors are such a pain in the ass
Applying screen protectors are such a pain in the ass
I've done it many times, it isn't as hard as people make it out to be.
Guys, I absolutely do not regret getting the tf700. Asus just rolled out 4.2.1 for the 300, which means the 201 and 700 aren't far behind.

So I realised my phone was burning my thigh, so I took it out and waited for it to cool down after rebooting, then realised it had drained around 50% of the battery in a few minutes and lost phone signal while doing so. Nice. The phone says it was the phone app that burned through all that power, despite having no signal and not being in a call.

Your phone will get crazy hot when it works hard. Increased battery drain. And it will work really hard to keep a signal. Depending on the phone. Mine does that when apps are updating.

You can always re-lock the bootloader after its rooted if you so chose.

well at least they are capturing the ~developer~ audience! [editline]4th March 2013[/editline] yeah that was bad
I heard the s4 will have an exynos in one continent and a snapdragon in the other. They have promised developer support with exynos before, and we all know it didn't happen. I don't trust Samsung 's source code commitment.
Will there ever be a CyanogenMod for htc Rhyme? I never found one that actually confirmed that it works.
So I got this Point of View ProTab 2 9.7" Tablet for free, currently running its stock ICS 4.0.3 ROM, and it appears to be quite slow especially in browsing facepunch. Anything known that could speed it up?
You could look for a custom rom, but i didn't have a ton of luck with a quick google. You'll want to look deeper.
You could look for a custom rom, but i didn't have a ton of luck with a quick google. You'll want to look deeper.
The stock rom doesn't appear to come with a whole lot, apparently it does have root access by default.
I've done it many times, it isn't as hard as people make it out to be.
depends on where you live really plus i'm pretty ocd about alignment so it takes me a lot longer
I've done it many times, it isn't as hard as people make it out to be.
I suck at applying them, well kinda

This is pretty cool,
Who here, when recording videos on their phones, use the image stabilization? Rate Agree for Yes Rate Informative for No Rate Artistic for Maybe/Sometimes
Got Android 4.2.2 on my One X and it's pretty slick, nice step up. Rate Agree for Yes Rate Informative for No Rate Artistic for Maybe/Sometimes
Unless you're shaking around like crazy, it really improves the quality.
