T-mobile has a great plan (the $30 one): http://prepaid-phones.t-mobile.com/monthly-4g-plans
The best offer I've seen from any provider; unlimited texts, unlimited data (throttled after 5 GB), and 100 minutes.
30 bucks a month, with no required contract.
(all of this is assuming you're American)

I'm on that with my Nexus 4 and it's great.
So I'd love to start work on the app, but I'm waiting to hear back from Hexxeh about his API not working. Sorry for the delay.
It's funny because I never see Samsung ads on TV here in Canada, although I watch it very infrequently. I've seen Apple ads though and I see phones from Samsung and other OEMs promoted through carrier commercials. But never a Samsung Galaxy ad. I know they exist though because I've seen them all on Youtube.
Here in CA everything is plastered with "The Next Big Thing" banners.

It's quite annoying, I see the occasional Windows/Sony commercials I haven't seen much Apple at all. I also see a growing number of Samsung devices along side dominant (number wise) Iphones at school.

Really? That's odd. I live in Nor Cal and most people use iPhones. I only know like three people who have a GNote and 3 people who have an S3
Everyone else has an iPhone
I live in the Bay Area, I call it Mid-Cal, and there's plenty floating around. Hell my brother has the Note 2, advertising does really pay off.

Everyone in Aus seems to have Samsung's or HTCs. There is also the odd iPhone.
I still haven't seen anyone else with a nexus 4 yet.
Alright, guess I'll try to get the Nexus 4 with 16GB tomorrow.

Check StraightTalk. Unlimited voice/text/data for $45. Runs off ATT/Tmobile's network.
All my friends have S2/3's.
One of the iPhone guys at work had a go on my Nexus 4 and said he's definitely getting an Android phone next time around. He'll probably end up with an S3/4...
Is there a way to find the file location from google music play?
I have around 2000 unidentified files from some game (I think) that slow the player down to a crawl
I'm cleaning out my microSD card by dumping a lot of games and stuff I don't play or use so I can take like a million photos and videos for an event/film shoot this weekend. Currently at 16GB free, up from 4GB
:v:
[editline]6th March 2013[/editline]
There's no way I'll survive with a 16GB Nexus 4
[editline]6th March 2013[/editline]
In terms of storage of course

Guess that's why there's a market for wi-fi enabled hard-drives with built in battery.
Well except for iPhones, but that's not the point of this thread.
the HTC one is becoming more and more attractive.

i wonder what's battery life like on it
The latest CM10.1 nightlies are giving me UI cancer. The Play Store button is wrongly aligned, it's too close to the right side of the screen.
My cancer entered stage 2:

Why put this here D:
It's for menu items, or actions. Instead of clogging up the whole action bar up there, it's put in that little menu.
Would the Ouya go in this thread, or in GGD?
Because I'm planning on getting on to have Android on my TV without using keyboard and mouse.
make an ouya general thread in ggd

Man, that's a beautiful device. You know they inject plastic into the machined aluminium, then they machine that. They placed the antennae in specific places where the aluminum won't interfere. It's fucking beautiful.
(if only it ran AOSP).
Hunt3rj2, learn to read nicknames :v:
I was listening to a podcast the other day, and one of the guys from Engadget said they talked to Samsung's design lead, and he explained that they pick plastics because it's easy to manufacture en Masse. HTC chose to focus on quality more than ease of manufacturing.

I know what the overflow button is for, but it has pretty much no reason to be there on phones without a hardware menu button (OR, if you rebinded those using CM settings, like I did).
I've done some calculations and such and what I found out is that there's a 19 minute video recording cap, because the files cap at 1.9GB for some stupid reason. At least allow 4gb files in a FAT32 filesystem! Probably due to the stock camera app, will try with a different one and such.
The most I could possibly record until the batteries die out is about 2 hours. The most I could store in my 32GB sdcard is 9 hours of videos. The video bitrate is 14Mbps.

I am totally ready for this weekend. besides the battery.
Just buy a camera dude

Reminds me, Been wanting to reverse engineer the signals used for the "4th pin" on smartphone batteries.
I know what 3 of them are (plus, temperature probe in the battery and a common ground for those two)
With that done it should be easy to make a custom "backpack" for my phone with a ridiculously large battery.

is one not for charging
is one not for charging
Some phones use it as a "ID" pin + a small ROM chip to detect whenever it's a legit battery or not, while others use that to connect to a "fuel gauge" chip in the battery.
I'd need to find out WHAT it does before doing anything further.
My i9000 only has three pins. S2 has 4 obviously. Good luck on your search.
the mizuu beta is amazing.
