Are there any user friendly backup apps that don't require root? I'm thinking about rooting but I don't want to lose all my progress in few games.
Are there any user friendly backup apps that don't require root? I'm thinking about rooting but I don't want to lose all my progress in few games.
I'm not sure. You might have to just backup the app data manually then restore it after rooting.
I'm not sure. You might have to just backup the app data manually then restore it after rooting.
Any idea how? I heard of Titanium Backup or Nandroid Backup but those 2 are root-only.
Are there any user friendly backup apps that don't require root? I'm thinking about rooting but I don't want to lose all my progress in few games.
You won't lose your progress in games as the sd card isn't formatted.
You won't lose your progress in games as the sd card isn't formatted.
But in order to root I need to unlock bootloader which would do a factory reset anyway. So even if SD card isn't formatted I'll still lose all user data.

How about someone here makes a intentionally downright shitty theme and makes a new XDA account, only for posting it. And some other people here will blindly support it on XDA no matter what. Think of it as a social experiment, time to see if XDA has any standards AT ALL.
But in order to root I need to unlock bootloader which would do a factory reset anyway. So even if SD card isn't formatted I'll still lose all user data.
No, you wouldn't. A factory reset also does not remove user data from the sd card.
So today by going to AT&T's retention department, I managed to save around 40 dollars a month in home internet/wireless services for a year.
I don't know if it's still in place, but the system Bell had here would automatically send a customer to a CSR if they said the word cancel during the voice menu selection, and if they were near the end of the contract that CSR would forward them to retentions immediately. [editline]8th March 2013[/editline] Oh also I quit my job so I won't know about new device launches or network changes ahead of any of you other Canadians here.
Wrong thread sorry fellas.
These mods are the fucking worse. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2161913&page=5
Ezhik's post most definitely falls under the "constructive criticism" category. When someone makes shit I think you have every right to point out why its shit and give examples on how to fix it.
Got his original post? It was deleted (or I can't find it).
It was deleted with the "cleanup". I didn't save it.
Ezhik's post most definitely falls under the "constructive criticism" category. When someone makes shit I think you have every right to point out why its shit and give examples on how to fix it.
"Constructive criticism" on xda is not what you think it is.
XDA needs facepunch moderation, badly.
XDA needs facepunch moderation, badly.
Then the only people would be a few devs and everyone else would be in refugee camp. Constantly.
I like that they're so positive about each others themes. Friendly
XDA needs facepunch moderation, badly.
90% of it would be wiped then. Easier to just crash and burn XDA and start anew.
[t]http://d.ezhik.me/public/facepunch/android/ui screenie.png[/t] should i keep going? [editline]9th March 2013[/editline]
Got his original post? It was deleted (or I can't find it).
THAT was deleted? Seriously? [editline]9th March 2013[/editline]
1. Backgrounds for the theme are VERY low resolution 2. Notifications are hard to read with the Mario/Luigi background 3. Notification toggles don't represent correct actions 4. Notification icons are blocked by the Donkey Kong image 5. Most of Thebear's backgrounds hare wrong aspect ratio (appear squished), and make the text unreadable.
in case that gets deleted again
Number one is unacceptable no matter how you look at it. I mean yeah the whole theme is bad, but that's literally the easiest thing to NOT fuck up.
oh wow i got an infraction. [editline]9th March 2013[/editline] okay, we seriously need to do something about this crap how about we write a big letter about this stuff, then post it there then once it gets deleted, post it again and again and again, until somebody actually addresses this crap
Anyone know some good UI tweaks? Running Cyanogenmod 10.1 Android 4.2.2.
apparently lists make xda's ~developers~ sad :'( [editline]9th March 2013[/editline]
Backgrounds for the theme are VERY low resolution, you should replace them with some higher quality ones. You can use Google Image Search to find high-res versions of images. Also, notifications have problems: they are hard to read with the Mario/Luigi background, maybe you should make the text font darker, or make the pulldown background a bit less transparent. Then, notification toggles don't represent correct actions, I think that you should maybe include a little WiFi icon near Sonic for the Wifi Toggle, GPS icon near Knuckles for GPS, and etc... Also, notification icons are blocked by the Donkey Kong image. Don't really have anything to suggest here - perhaps it would be for the best to just remove it. Last, most of Thebear's backgrounds hare wrong aspect ratio (appear squished) - he should try holding the "Shift" key in Photoshop when resizing them. Also, his backgrounds make it hard to read the text, so maybe he should darken them a little bit, in photoshop this is done through Image->Adjustments->Brightness/Contrast.
That monstrosity is apparently better than a small list
