Uh, the phone reads the SIM information when it is inserted, it's like an ID card. It doesn't constantly read it to work. There should be no connection between newer SIM and signal strength
I meant the coverage from the provider is quite a bit better.
Why don't we have matte displays yet? I know the colour reproduction and black levels would suffer, would it add bulk?

Probably just not fun to run your fingers over.

Couldn't you apply an oleophobic coating that newer phones have?
Couldn't you apply an oleophobic coating that newer phones have?
Yeah, but it'd still be like running your fingers over textured plastic... Analogous to fingernails on a chalkboard, I would think.

What about adding glass over the matte.

Then it's reflective again, and you've lost any point in your matte screen.
Yeah and guess what? Half of the nonessential features don't work and all devs except for one has abandoned the project

Also this appears to be the SGS4:

I certainly hope this is a disguised prototype like the SGS3 that was leaked last year because if this is the final design, I'm just gonna go and buy a HTC ONE or something
tbh I really like the look of that.
ew
galaxy note mini
Why do I feel like people on oem roms want AOSP, and people on AOSP (who didn't want it in the first place) want touch wiz or some other awful skin?
I'm on Blur and I still want to flash AOKP just to be that much closer to stock 4.2.

Woops

Some matte displays can smooth and pleasent to use, and feel more like a button, kindle's texture for example.
Looking for a new Android phone. I'm keen for a Nexus 4, anything better or is it a good choice?
For the price, I would definitely just go ahead and get the N4. Sure there are better phones out/coming out but they're more expensive and you will not think of the N4 as 'slow' in any regard.
The camera is sufficient for most things, everything is extremely snappy and the screen is really nice (especially if you install a custom kernel and tweak the gamma settings to make blacks more black and colours more vibrant). The design is also really nice but getting a case/bumper is recommended as it's pretty much all glass (asides from the edges).
Finally decided to get my first Android phone in June, with a budget of 100 €, but I'm having trouble searching for a good phone. I thought Xperia Tipo was good, but apparently not. Do you guys know any good smartphone in that budget?

No. You should save your money up.
So, since Glass runs on Android, would this be the place to talk about it?
I don't think it's running Android tbh.
I don't think it's running Android tbh.
Apparently the exif data of the photos from the The Verge's hands-on showed it was running 4.0.4
I don't think it's running Android tbh.
the exif data of the photos taken with Glass said android 4.0
Cool
And here comes in the android fanboys raging why Glass is not on Jelly Bean
Whenever I install the Emoji for English add-on dictionary for Jellybean under settings it either disappears when I refresh the list or just uninstalls itself. Anyone know how to stop this? Device is a Razr Maxx if that matters.
And here comes in the android fanboys raging why Glass is not on Jelly Bean
JB probably wasn't anywhere near stable by the time Glass needed an OS on it, and they didn't think it was worth upgrading the software when it finally came out
Anyone knows some good free keyboards ?
Anyone knows some good free keyboards ?
Go Keyboard used to be great but now it's bloated with crap and ads
Anyone knows some good free keyboards ?
swype beta
or hacker's keyboard
swiftkey is still pretty damn worth it imo
Anyone have experience with modding a Razr M?
i went to charge my phone and the cable whipped up and hit me in the eye
now i have a giant red spot on the white of my left eye that looks ugly
:(
despite having loads of huge cracks all across the screen, every single millimeter of it still works, I can fill the entire panel on on the display test :v:
My LG Optimus L9 is apparently going to receive an update to Jellybean some time in the first half of this year.
