As an S2 owner, Samsungs newer products never made me feel like "damn, I MUST have this", like I did feel with the S2. They look so meh, no breath-taking specs (well ok, there's an 8 core cpu now, but what fucking for?)..
Dev community is going to hate the Exynos too, S4 is kinda like the incremental upgrade from Iphone 4s->5.
Anyone who has actually used a 4S and a 5 knows that was a lot less of an incremental update than this just on the basis of design alone. This is really more relatable to the 4->4S. The S4 on the outside is obviously the S3 design strategy, just a little bit thinner with a little bit more display space. The real alterations are inside, and the display resolution of course. There's no real enhancement or true refinement to the design, it's an upgrade focusing on internals and software gimmicks of course. You can only use one set of 4 or the other. [editline]15th March 2013[/editline]
The HTC One blows the SG4 right out of the water.
S4 will still sell more. Samsung has the brand and following that HTC and Sony doesn't. [editline]15th March 2013[/editline]
Wow, first camera samples of the S4 on Phonearena are sad.
But 13MP will sell more to consumers than 4MP on the HTC One, regardless of the end quality.
It's better defined as a CPU with two sets of four cores. You can only use one set of 4 or the other.
So I suppose one of the sets is better for power efficiency and the other for performance?
So I suppose one of the sets is better for power efficiency and the other for performance?
Yah, and it's stupid because like it was said earlier, the HTC One is matching the Exynos 5 in AnTuTu with four 1.7GHz Krait 600 cores. I would honestly want the S4 that uses a Qualcomm SoC. No dealing with a server grade CPU shoved in a phone.
I'm actually curious as to what Kaabii would think of the SIV screen (in terms of colours). I'm gonna guess he'll say the HTC One has a better screen (and not just because of the dpi)
Does anyone else have the album art issue with Google play music? Basically all the sings that dont come with their own art have the album cover from another song. So 2/3 of my music has the exact same album cover.
By default is think songs lacking album art will use whatever album art is in the same folder. It jappened to me too when i had a folder full of random music that lacked embedded album art. You aill have to go through and remove/add album art manually.
Still super saturated.
There's also a new sub-pixel arrangement.
The choice between the SIV is actually going to be very difficult. The SIV has MicroSD support, removable battery, bigger screen and gimmicks. But Cyanogenmod support is probably going to be poop and the build quality is testicles The HTC One has a good calibrated screen with higher density, great build quality and supposedly a great camera. I don't have a clue on CM support, but the lack of MicroSD and removable battery are turn offs. Besides, their sharing system is called "Zoe", which is a shit name.

To be honest, although having no removable battery and SD card seems like a discouragement, but it actually doesn't matter that much once you've start to use it. Also who cares about what their sharing system is called? lol
Only good decision Samsung made was the swiftkey deal. Aside from that, they fucked the dog. Every samsung fanboy will buy one too. The fucking Apple of the Android world.
Decided to try out chameleon launcher, it is ok, but lacking quite a few features. [t]http://i2.minus.com/i5QaZCqv86Gow.png[/t]
That looks pretty cool, what does it lack, though?
is it still not worth the price or did they make it cheaper
eww legacy menu button
That looks pretty cool, what does it lack, though?
Adding icons to the desktop, from what I can see custom wallpapers as well. A few bugs here and there as well, animations not displaying correctly or icons dissappering. For launchers I would give it a 6/10. Going to muck around with a few tomorrow most likely. Sadly I can't do everything I Want as I don't want to wipe to root my N4 just yet. [editline]16th March 2013[/editline]
eww legacy menu button
And this, which when pressed does nothing
I'm actually curious as to what Kaabii would think of the SIV screen (in terms of colours). I'm gonna guess he'll say the HTC One has a better screen (and not just because of the dpi)
I can say the One is better confidently, without having seen either. Trends for each OEM support it, as does the fact that a display with color degradation can not maintain color balance over time, especially with the odd subpixel arrangement. [editline]15th March 2013[/editline]
There's also a new sub-pixel arrangement.
That could actually be better than the RGBG if they're really going on the notion of logical pixels. Nothing there is a pixel, they can assign certain green dots and red ones and blue ones in groups to construct the image. [editline]15th March 2013[/editline] Also it still is the same as RGBG, just with the greens split up and spaced differently. But it still could allow for image quality improvements over their old arrangement. It doesn't even matter. At 400+ ppi even someone with 20/10 vision is full of shit if they say it looks grainy or something. The issue is still colours because they degrade over time which throws them off, and they're already bad to begin with.
i'm still arguing with the retro theme people, i reposted the same question four or five times now, and not once did they give me an answer, now i am reposting a post i made for the third time can they read at all??
https://twitter.com/DisplayMate/status/312549499413360641 Maybe it'll actually have the best display in the world? I doubt it, but we will definitely see soon.
i'm gonna get those fucks to fix their theme even if it kills me
Every samsung fanboy will buy one too. The fucking Apple of the Android world.
Pretty much how I view Samsung after the Galaxy S3 mini ordeal
i'm gonna get those fucks to fix their theme even if it kills me
Knowing the average XDA theme "creator", I have only one thing to say: R.I.P.
I don't see all the Samsung support, everyone agrees Samsung makes shit phones where I live.
when I was in Prague, I noticed that literally EVERYONE downtown had an S3 or a Note 2, mostly with the battery cover flip cases. Never seen so many Androids in one place, let alone S3s or Note 2s. So few iPhones, which surprised me.
But 13MP will sell more to consumers than 4MP on the HTC One, regardless of the end quality.
Oh god, this.
i'm gonna get those fucks to fix their theme even if it kills me
A brick wall would be more cooperative.
I don't see all the Samsung support, everyone agrees Samsung makes shit phones where I live.
Take a trip to the Android section of Reddit.
Every samsung fanboy will buy one too. The fucking Apple of the Android world.
Is it really that bad that you'd judge someone for buying one? Or are you pretentiously emphasizing your point? I'd assume you aren't truly that shallow.
Is there any way to flash an s3 update via odin or sonething, seeing as they won't let me do it because my device has been "modified" (I installed syahkernel and rooted it)
