The black looks grey. I saw an older XPeria phone a few days ago. I saw it from the side. You could use a black screen as a fucking torch.
Its deepest black was light grey.

Actually I agree, dead on it looks very nice. The shots where it was really bad were ones on any sort of angle. Thought like FPtje says, the black looks really really poor even by LCD standards. It's possible the button background is actually supposed to be grey though, I wouldn't know without checking myself.
I was using the wallpaper as a reference. The wallpaper looks slightly darker than the button bar.
But holy shit, Kaabii agrees with me on screens. That's a first time for me :v:

The button background actually is grey. A lot of the interface is a dark grey. I do agree the blacks aren't that black.

It's weird that even some of Sony's icons still haven't all been updated for the higher res screen.

That's just typical of LCDs. I love my IPS phones way more than my OLED ones, but sometimes it's so blatant how much worse black levels are that it's really annoying.
[editline]28th February 2013[/editline]
Oh and yah that is odd that some haven't been updated. I think as 1080p displays in general become more adopted devs will include higher res assets for launcher icons. As for Sony, you'll just have to hope they're not lazy.
Gary is going to want his underwater photos now.

The Xperia Z and a lot of the previous phones had dark grey/grey buttons and UI in general.
I will probably do that, I don't have unlimited data :v:
I'll store music locally too, but I never watch movies
So apparently the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini only has 640x480p recording. Just checked the settings in the entire app, only 480p even though every other website says 720p. Checked YouTube for test videos and it's in 720p. what the hell is going on?

and pointless screen resolution comparison Xperia Z on the left and Galaxy S2 on the right.
Where is that from? That's basically taking the only WVGA flagship of 2011 and comparing it to a 1080p phone from 2013. Very pointless indeed. Also the blurring on the bottom of the S2 part gives the impression the photographer didn't do a great job.

I use a Canon 7D. First photo taken with 8-16mm lens and the other with 100mm macro lens.

I would like one of those Androids with the touch screen things and apps on them

I like how almost all of the devices system ROM is around 400MB
Does anyone know if Orange (or rather EE?) stock the Nexus 4, it doesn't say so on their site, yet other brokers sell N4s under orange contracts.
Is there a way to get Skype to reconnect when a call drops? It's really annoying when I'm in the car and it happens. Getting the phone back out of my pocket is almost impossible without stopping (or using so much force that i feel like it's going to break in half). The desktop version does this, but there doesn't appear to be an option for it in the mobile version.

skype should reconnect in general, in related news the skype app is a laggy mess
the skype app is a laggy mess
I'd almost call the current Skype app great. I mean when I remember how it used to work a year ago, it's a major improvement.

Yeah... Can I assume you're buying a phone that's more expensive than 175 subsidized, or is 175 your actual budget. Because with that you'll probably have to get an older device like the S2 or one of Samsung's weird little phones they've been making.
[editline]28th February 2013[/editline]
It's just that $175 is a bit low to be trying to get in on current gen stuff. You may also wanna check Craigslist and the like.

If you buy those headphones separate it'll cost. $200+ they better be good.
I took it for funsies and yea I got lazy.
Oh that's excusable. I thought it was from a review or something and I just meant some site doing that kind of photography shouldn't have that kind of blurring.
Oh that's excusable. I thought it was from a review or something and I just meant some site doing that kind of photography shouldn't have that kind of blurring.
Haha yea that would be pretty bad. I just wanted to see for myself how big of a difference it is. Even though I can see it with the naked eye.
Does anyone know if Orange (or rather EE?) stock the Nexus 4, it doesn't say so on their site, yet other brokers sell N4s under orange contracts.
Orange don't stock the Nexus 4 directly, places like Carphone Warehouse get their own stock of phones to give with contracts from providers.

They sent me a letter offering me an SGS3 because my time is almost up, but I was gonna phone up and ask for an N4 but I doubt that'll be possible then?
skype should reconnect in general, in related news the skype app is a laggy mess
Skype reconnects, but I have to manually rejoin the call, which is a pain in the ass. And yes, the skype app is really laggy. Even on my Nexus 4 chat scrolling lags like fuck.
