Don't worry! I'll seed you an apple so you can torrent it!
Well it's just an apple, you wouldn't download a car right?

So I tried out photoshpere again. It isn't brilliant. So many stitching issues.

Photosphere requires you to basically rotate the camera perfectly, with the center of the circle set at the camera sensor. There's no way to correct for parallax error, so you just have to be very, VERY careful.
Ugh, both of my micro USB cords are broken so now I can't charge my phone except in my car. I miss mini USB, they aren't nearly as flimsy, and I could use the cords from all my older devices with them.
Oh god what happened there.

Battery life is getting better though. Was able to go the entire day without needing to charge it yesterday.
It's like a unicorn.
You have a very elaborate imagination.
Any suggestions for a ROM for i9300 that has good battery life and isn't a nightly?
This is my current battery life.

I have rooted my Galaxy S2 and now I keep getting notifications and popups about an update, but I can't do anything. It fails when I try to install it. This is extremely annoying, does anyone know how to fix it?
Another thing, does anyone happen to know how you remove the triangle on startup?

That's pretty funny because Microsoft Photosynth always turns out great for me, and it was around before Photosphere. It came out in like....2010 or something.

I have like a million mini USB cords laying around my house from various devices that used them. Now all they work with is a Canon point and shoot camera.

What is it with people and requesting a non-nightly? Nightly's generally are perfectly stable and add TONS of new features every week.
Okay, really weird shit going on with my Nexus 4's bluetooth. I'm trying to hook up a shiny new Bluetooth OBDII adapter thingy to my phone - I've plugged it in and the red light comes on, signalling that it's in standby mode and ready to be paired. My Nexus 7 picks it up as the only device in the area fine, and Torque will happily have a natter with it all day long - however, when I switch over to my N4 and turn on Bluetooth on that, it finds two completely different devices and no OBD adapter. Any ideas?
Tip for a good photosphere: sit on a wheely chair and do it spinning round.
Tip for a good photosphere: sit on a wheely chair and do it spinning round.
With the sensor directly above the chair's axis.
The Lumia 920 is probably the best photosynth phone seeing as the sensor is more in the middle than other phones

I just discovered this plastic U shaped stand that came with my Wii sensor bar makes the perfect phone stand when secured to the desk, it's the little things in life

Or tape phone onto a tripod
Do you think this would be worth £100 in likenew condition?

Looks good on paper.
Hey is there any photosphere alternative apps for Android? I don't want to flash the 4.2 cameara or is there like a port for ICS?

Is there a port yet for people without a gyroscope?

That's just as deluded as people who have that cult like relation with Apple. A user like me is immediately kicked out of the Android camp because I want consistently fluid performance, a great display, updates, and ample storage. On an Android phone there is no way to get all that in a package, and I can't apply either of the first two to any Android tablets. Getting the latter two together doesn't work either because Nexus devices come in really small storage capacities. It's absolutely asinine to suggest Android devices are good for everyone because in like one minute typing this I just showed it absolutely can not be good for me until Google launches some kickass $600 phone with a lot of code rewrites.
[editline]2nd March 2013[/editline]
And the funny thing is I'm still using an S2. It's too late in its lifecycle to get the iPhone 5 and the Nexus 4 has too many issues for me personally, and Windows phone is still bleh. So I'm still Android for my phone. Go figure.
I should probably keep buying some Android phones just to keep up to date with the OS. I guess I could buy an N4 if I'm not really going to be using it as a primary device.

I'm looking for that one launcher or app that allowed separate window capability just like a normal desktop environment, anyone know what it was called?

Fluid performance on Android is possible if you have flagship specs. Consistent, no, but it will be smooth. A great display completely excludes Samsung and Nexuses. Updates are Nexus only, and ample storage is only for non-Nexus devices now.
I can count on one hand how many OEMs bother to calibrate screens. (Apple, HTC, Nokia, LG?)

Rooting causes updates to fail. And you have to use TriangleAway to make the triangle go away.
How safe is rooting a phone? Can it easily be fixed if things go sour? I'm considering rooting my HTC One V - There are a couple apps I'd like that need root to work to their fullest potential, and I might want to try a newer version of Android down the line.
so this is pretty odd
got CyanogenMod 10.1 on my S3 and it's fantastic but only one minor complaint: my contacts don't sync. I used HaxSync, and it pretty much only put names in the People app. No numbers or anything; same for Facebook friends etc.
is this an isolated thing or is there a different way you have to sync on CM
[editline]1st March 2013[/editline]
it's the d2spr by the way if you need that model

The One V is easy to root, but it will wipe your phone in the process.
The One V is easy to root, but it will wipe your phone in the process.
I know it will - I looked up the rooting instructions and it seems dead easy. I'd also fully expect it to wipe my personal information when rooted - It wouldn't be a very secure platform if it didn't. I was mostly just wondering about just how bricked my phone can become and if its possible to repair it short of buying a new phone
I'm looking for that one launcher or app that allowed separate window capability just like a normal desktop environment, anyone know what it was called?
there isn't one. launchers on android aren't like desktop environments - they're just apps that, well, launch other apps.
