so this is pretty odd
got CyanogenMod 10.1 on my S3 and it's fantastic but only one minor complaint: my contacts don't sync. I used HaxSync, and it pretty much only put names in the People app. No numbers or anything; same for Facebook friends etc.
is this an isolated thing or is there a different way you have to sync on CM

it's the d2spr by the way if you need that model

Fluid performance on Android is possible if you have flagship specs. Consistent, no, but it will be smooth. A great display completely excludes Samsung and Nexuses. Updates are Nexus only, and ample storage is only for non-Nexus devices now.
I can count on one hand how many OEMs bother to calibrate screens. (Apple, HTC, Nokia, LG?)
With LG it depends, look at the N4. Also that's why I said consistently smooth. On the Nexus 7 scrolling in the launcher feels like 60fps like half the time, but even if it was all the time it's also very stiff since the animations in stock Android don't have manipulation animations like bounceback or compression.

haxsync is facebook sync, not google sync.

He just said his contacts don't sync, and "no numbers or anything, same for facebook friends" so I assumed he meant neither were working. Apologies if I misunderstood.

I'd say the next gen will have enough single core IPC to keep most everything smooth.

Y'kno except the Cortex A9 did that for all the other mobile OS's.

Welcome to software, you have a choice between efficiency and portability for your code.

i only had one or two google contacts anyway
but no, it says it syncs but nothing shows up; i used haxsync and that put people (all my facebook contacts which is really what i want anyway) on the list, but only in name (i don't have their numbers)

of course i'm signed in to both

Man, this is pretty.
Get rid of that shitty looking Honeycomb UI.

Isn't Honeycomb like Holo?
No, it's got that ugly blue/purple bruise color everywhere and gradients till the end of time. Not near as minimal or pretty (or functional) as #HOLO.
[editline]1st March 2013[/editline]
I guess it's ~close~. It's like Holo's ugly stepsister.
Voice recognition will be perfect once it can understand the Scottish accent.
I'm never using voice in Google Now again.
I don't see why Google can't just make it look like the web version of Google Music. Hopefully we it's get a decent update or APIs for third party apps soon.
That would look really close to Gmail.
It just needs a refresh. It's so ugly.

This guy is getting so mad because I don't praise the GS3 as an amazing phone. Seriously...

It was when Google was doing everything Tron themed.

The entire Tron film had fewer gradients than Honeycomb.

Having HTC in your title instantly makes you a HTC fanboy/Samsung hater, stubborn little fan he is. Though the comments on GSMArena's spec page are way worse.
No, as a matter of fact, plastic people still continue to live everywhere and they are there forever and so is plastic Samsung will stay forever.
Other brands will fall but plastic will stay on top.
LOL!
Does rooting the Nexus 7 erases all data that is in internal storage? I know I'll have a factory reset but I'm not sure what about the data that is on my storage.

You don't have to factory reset to root (unless it's different for a nexus 7). In any case, your external (internal) storage should not be erased.

I know I don't have to perfrom a factory reset, but when you unlock bootloader it does one anyway so I was just curious if it would erase all my songs and stuff on internal storage. If no, then it would save me tons of time because I wouldn't had to backup anything.

It's always a good idea to do a backup, and it doesn't take all that much time.
Are screen protectors any good? Talking about those thin things that stick to the screen.
Will Google ever actually release the Play Music sources so we can get nice music players without having to resort to their shitting app for the cloud
no

All you can do is wait for Duartes [del]golden[/del] Holo hands update

yes

What is that?
I'd use play music if it weren't for the UI and it's method of 'shuffling'

Holo design guy
If anyone is interested in MIUI, V5 looks absolutely beautiful.
