virginity? :smug:
What's this I don't even...
Anyways, I'd probably keep it as a back up or sell it + most of the other innards of my computer if I got a sandybridge, but to someone I know (and as a bundle). Why do the three of you want them so much?
Also wait what
4870 512 MB
Mine has 1 GB, did they make 2 models?
Uhh yes?
most graphics cards come in two models, 1 GB or 512 MB. some come as 320 or 720 MB, some come as 1 GB or 2 GB. the 8800 GTS came in 320 MB, 512 MB, 720 MB, and 1 GB

shutup it's late
Lol. that is exactly what people will be saying once the next generation comes out. "Wait for next gen!".
Not really.
And wouldn't mind you giving me that 4870.
Not really.
Watch it happen. It always has and always will.

I wouldn't use a more than 2 generation old card, if I had a choice. That's when I would start rolling out the money.
Well shit. I see this thread RIGHT after my 6970 arrives.
OH WELL. Less work for me.

I'm pretty sure most retailers allow you to return it even after you opened it for like 14 days after purchase for a full refund.
I know it's like that by law in sweden when you order online, so you could contact your retailer and ask. Sure it's a bit of work but you'll save like $100.

768, 896. No 720.
Maybe it's not a helluva lot better than the 480 but it is still an improvement. I'd recommend selling your 480 while it's still worth something, I just checked local prices and you can probably get a gtx 480 off for almost exactly the price of a 6950, so you won't lose much money (maybe a few bux including shipping) and it will be a step up.
To put it bluntly: Sell and buy new now, next to zero cost and small upgrade or wait and have to shell out full price when it's time to upgrade next time.
Whatever man it's your choice, but I did similar move with my 5870 (except in my case there was a bit of loss) and currently have a 6950 on the way.
No, there's no point in switching to a 6970 from a 480, because that's all it is. A switch.
Why would you throw away PhysX and Cuda for a shitty rebrand?
To piss you off.
Why would you throw away PhysX and Cuda for a shitty rebrand?
Really, people use CUDA still? I thought it was about OpenCL by now? Cuda doesn't mean crap unless your a business. Why not mention something like nVidia 3D, something ATI doesn't directly offer?
So does anyone want to purchase a 4870 512 mb :v
