Same reason Macs are bad. Overpriced. Overstylized. Overrated. [editline]27th January 2011[/editline] Except Macs have bad hardware too.
I would say that I would rather have a mac pro case, than the Alienware one. Alienware uses bad hardware, too.
I bought an Alienware about 4 years ago. The price wasn't all that bad (got an upgrade to a 7900GX2 for free, about a $500 upgrade normally), it works amazing and it plays all games on full settings (not on like 60+ frames, but at least 30 which satisfies me). When my 7900GX2 failed I got a free upgrade to an 8800gtx too. Other than that nothing has failed, the case is nice and roomy for expansion (doing later this year for Skyrim), the cooling system works really well, it's a bit louder than I'd like but I'm really happy with it. I didn't have enough knowledge to build a PC when I bought it, so this was a great alternative. If you can build your own it's preferable, but if you have the money and not the knowledge to build one, they aren't a bad buy.
If i hade the money and not the knowledge, then i'd ask someone who had the knowledge.
If you didn't have the knowledge that there was that knowledge, would you still use the knowledge that you didn't posess?
If you didn't have the knowledge that there were that knowledge, would you still use the knowledge that you didn't posess?
Then i wouldn't get a gaming computer.
:byodood:
ShitshitshitshitshitshitshitshitSHIT! Corrected. I hope atleast.. I need to fresh up my english grammar.
If i hade the money and not the knowledge, then i'd ask someone who had the knowledge.
I didn't know anyone who had built their own computer, nor did I know of any place to ask how, nor did I want to convince my parents I was capable of doing so.
I say give them a chance!
Same reason Macs are bad. Overpriced. Overstylized. Overrated. [editline]27th January 2011[/editline] Except Macs have bad hardware too.
what have you done!!
What we actually should do is compare Alienware to other pre-build 'gaming' computer and see how it holds up. We all know home builds are better, but we're talking about a different audience here. Do you guys have any info / sources on this?
If you're going prebuilt just get an iBuyPower or CyberPowerPC.
ur all saying they are bad for the wrong reason!!!!!!!!! DONT TRUST ANYTHING MADE BY ALIENS WOW HOW OBVIOUS CAN IT BE??????
ur all saying they are bad for the wrong reason!!!!!!!!! DONT TRUST ANYTHING MADE BY ALIENS WOW HOW OBVIOUS CAN IT BE??????
Are you 6? Do you still wet the bed at night? Fucking gaming laptops, that's what we're talking about!

[editline]27th January 2011[/editline] Except Macs have bad hardware too.
:what: Are you saying that the actual components are bad as in they're a little outdated? Or are you seriously trying to compare the build quality of a Mac to the build quality of an Alienware?
:what: Are you saying that the actual components are bad as in they're a little outdated? Or are you seriously trying to compare the build quality of a Mac to the build quality of an Alienware?
I think Apple is better than everything. Deal with it.
2x as pricey as it should be. Bad Customer support Looks gay The only Alienware product you should ever buy is this:
:what: Are you saying that the actual components are bad as in they're a little outdated?
:what: Are you saying that the actual components are bad as in they're a little outdated? And yes, I do own a MacBook.
I once designed a $40,000 computer on the Alienware website
Why the hell does where ever Mactrekkie posts, a stupid Mac flame war starts? [editline]27th January 2011[/editline]
I once designed a $40,000 computer on the Alienware website
Only $40,000? I've gone over $60,000 before.
Why the hell does where ever Mactrekkie posts, a stupid Mac flame war starts?
The answer is in his name.
Why the hell does where ever Mactrekkie posts, a stupid Mac flame war starts
Because I speak positively of Macs.
Because I speak positively of Macs.
No, you're a fanboy.
Only $40,000? I've gone over $60,000 before.
Unless it's made of solid gold I don't see how that's possible. :colbert:
I bought a gaming laptop from them. Served me well. It is a bit overpriced though.
Because I speak positively of Macs.
Positively =/= fanboyism Positively would mean a unbiased emphasizing of both the good side and the bad side of a product that isn't complete shit.
I built my computer myself. Cost $1k. I went on the alienware website and designed a computer using the EXACT SAME hardware as the stuff I have in my computer now. The alienware was 5,000 dollars. You can either build it yourself and get quality, or pay literally 5x more for the same thing, with actual less build quality and its impossible to customize.
I successfully built my own computer by just watching a couple of tutorials. It was much easier than I thought it would be, it costed 1000 sollars less and even had better specs than an Alienware Aurora.
Overpriced as hell.
Because I speak positively of Macs.
no, it's because you're a brand wanking tool you've become an embarrassment to this section, just fuck off to /g/ if you want to brand wank at borderline troll levels (User was banned for this post ("flaming" - UberMensch))
