Hey, dunno if I've asked you yet, I'm doing a survey for an assignment at school. It's for my food's class, we're trying to see what percentages of what gender eat what.
So, you like fishsticks?
axiom 3.0
Not really, I tend to not eat fish, as I don't really like the taste. It works ok in burgers, if there's nothing else around.
Aww that's a shame, I like fishsticks. Every now and then, try not to eat em too often.

I'll put you down as a 'no' in the man-to-fish area
I own an alienware m11x, I bought it used off of overclock.net I enjoy it very much so.
Why alienware sucks ass? go on the dell website, the M17X base alone cost's maybe 3-4 times as much as my computer.
Overpriced piece of crap. Also, LEDs everywhere.

Not really the point. although the desktop ones are roughly starting at $3,500.

I agree the desktops are a rip off but I really enjoy the laptops
You probably think Nike shoes are better quality than any other off-brand shoes, too, right?
You can't compare shoes to computers. Nike shoes are better than generic brand shoes.
A good pair of $50 Nike shoes will last me 2 years, while a generic pair at Wal-Mart will last two weeks before the soles detach from the shoe and become worthless.
Anyway, besides Alienware being horribly overpriced, like all Dell machines, the components they're comprised of (besides the CPU and GPU) are laughably terrible. The motherboard, power supply and RAM are garbage bottom of the barrel parts that aren't worth their weight in silicon.
For the motherboards, Dell throws a bid out to OEMs for basically their lowest grade board, which are then further gutted of features to save money and use alternate cheaper versions of components (like capacitors, VRMs, etc.) These boards are then used in all Dell machines from A to Z (Yes, even Alienware.)
As for the PSU, the same plan is in play. All of the more expensive features of good power supplies (high frequency backfeed prevention, PFC, big line feed caps, beefy heatsinks, big output caps, etc.) Are removed. Technically you don't need half of that to make a switching power supply, but the end result is a horrid PSU which can barely take the load it was specified for and outputs dirty DC voltage which reduces the life of components.
RAM is just as bad. Dell usually uses Hynix, Nanya (or worse no-name brand) which I've never seen a reliable stick of.

I love desktops since you can upgrade at low cost. Well, it's a fact that we really need laptops for mobile reasons.
