Why the hell do you say 0-3000$, when you only have $500? What the hell?

Agree, that's dumb

$2,000
- 4x Samsung 1TB in raid0 results in maximum read speed combined with plenty of storage
- eVGA motherboard supporting SLi to allow an extra GTX480 to be swapped in if ever needed
- Intel Core i7-860 Lynnfield 2.8GHz will give you a lag-free gaming, and remove any waiting when doing daily things such as an antivirus scan
- 2x G.SKILL Trident 4GB (2 x 2GB) That's 8GB of High-Speed 2000MHz ram, so you'll be able to cache the majority of any game in just one load. Load-times be gone.
- CHIEFTEC Dragon cabinet with a 230mm fan on the side for maximum cooling
God damnit I should've been a salesman.
@Tools,
Newegg sucks ass : D
Anyway, to be honest, you spent way to fucking much. I just built my computer and I payed 500$ less then what you bought, and all the components are better. You gotta research mate.
why are you using commas instead of a period for the decimal point if you're supposedly in the US?

Then you should tell what doesn't suck and also tell what components you got for such price and still be better than the ones in op.

What what. One of the biggest wholesalers/distributers in the world sucks ass? How the hell?
@Tools,

hahaha
oh man that's a good joke
Stop with those fucking useless GTX480s. Oh, sorry my good johanz sir, without CUDA it'll take you one more minute to render. So lame eh ?
By the way, SLI'ing Two GTX470 will only make you have a 30% perfs enhance. Two cards does not equals twice more performance.
HD5970, OpenCL, you're good to go.
Too bad the renderer I use works on CUDA only. And so do quite some other stuff that were meant to be used in studios where people don't use ati
Lol dis iz liek dis foar me so itll be ze same foar u.
Seriously.

Why 4 HDD ? 2 is enough.

Writing like shit won't make you win an argument, now rewrite it so I can atleast understand what you were trying to say.
Why 4 HDD ? 2 is enough.
Load times mate :buddy:
Meh, in a $2k build you don't wanna wait, hence why I've included 4 for a better load speed.
Even my 2x setup with the same drives, they still only output an average of 250MB/s on vanilla Vista x64 ultimade meaning when loading Just Cause 2 it still takes those 10 seconds to load.
Writing like shit won't make you win an argument, now rewrite it so I can atleast understand what you were trying to say.
What I said was as stupid as what he said.
Just because it is like this (CUDA needed) for johanz doesn't mean it'll be needed for Reg. Basing something on personal observations is always bad ideas.
By the way, it was readable :(

That's the exact same setup that I have aside from the case, mine's just got a giant blue monster logo on the side :fuckmeintheass:

True, there's no need for him to pay extra for something he won't use.
Unless Just Cause 2 gets updated to use even more CUDA for even better graphics, now that'd be awesome.
They're making it a gimmick, anything they are doing with CUDA is possible with ATI.
They're making it a gimmick, anything they are doing with CUDA is possible with ATI.
Except most software uses cuda, not opencl or whatever ati uses
In terms of bang for buck, this is a huge waste of money. Get something in the middle, you won't regret it and you'll have money left over for other things and be able to upgrade in the future when the technology used in games calls for it
Except most software uses cuda, not opencl or whatever ati uses
All I know of that uses CUDA is Just Cause 2's water, which Crysis (Does not use CUDA) Has better water.
you should buy me a computer for 500 dollars

Because only games matter, right?
Because only games matter, right?
That's the only use of it I've seen.
So sorry master.
I'm an idiot
He already said he does 3D work and video editing.
The problem with cuda software is that it doesn't support opencl. If it would, I'd purchase an ati card right away.
Anyway I searched google and found out some hackers have found a way of running physx (so probably cuda too) on ati cards, maybe it will be enough

Physx = yes
Cuda = no
Even then, you don't run physx on ati card, you run it on nvidia card that you dedicate to physx, while ati as your main card.
Then hmmm... how about two gtx 470's.. It would be far better than a 5970, and have cuda and physx... right?
When the 5970 is slightly cheaper and proven to run better in most games?
Just curious, but where the hell are you people getting these prices from?
On Newegg the GTX480 is $200 cheaper. :confused:
Wow really? I'll give it a visit now then
[editline]08:55PM[/editline]
No, evga gtx 470 and 480 cost the same on both the evga site and newegg
[editline]08:56PM[/editline]
The i7 core too. Costs the same as on amazon. I think the prices are set by the manufacturers.

Yeah, and it says the price for the normal(not the watercooled one) GTX480 is $500 and the 5970 is still $700 on Newegg.
[editline]09:10[/editline]
I'm not saying there's a price difference between Evga's site and Newegg, I'm saying there's a $200 price difference between the GTX480 and 5970.
What the hell, the 5970 is $ 700 on newegg, but for $700 i can get 2xevga GTX 470 superclocked. I think the latter ones are better, for the same price.
[editline]09:26PM[/editline]
Okay. I got the overall price down to 1350$, with double GTX 480 in SLI (maybe 470 if I don't have enough money), an i7 920, 2.66 ghz, an msi x58 pro-e lga 1366. With these it was 1150$, but i added 200$ to count the ram and hdd
What do you think?
