double GTX 480 in SLI What do you think?
I think you should post a video of how god damn loud that's gonna be
It's not a PC anymore with a 480 SLI, it's a fucking cooking plate. :v:
I think you should post a video of how god damn loud that's gonna be
3 db louder than two 5870s. Seriously you people are making a huge deal out of nothing. [editline]05:50PM[/editline] Same thing for temperature, it's really not that big of a difference.
snip im late
Well kinda.. I'd love to have a lower price, but I don't wanna suffer in performance. I really want to have the possibility for all games to run on maximum settings with no lag, that's what I'm trying to achieve. I'd also need processing power for my personal need (3d graphics, mapping, video editing and such)
You don't belong in a tech forum if you don't know what you're doing.
You don't belong in a tech forum if you don't know what you're doing.
That's the most ignorant and bullshit commend I had seen today. Yes, you DO belong in this forum even if you know jackshit about hardware. It's about helping people, not being all smartass about how you know stuff about pcs and he doesn't.
why do you have 2 psu's ?
What the hell, the 5970 is $ 700 on newegg, but for $700 i can get 2xevga GTX 470 superclocked. I think the latter ones are better, for the same price. [editline]09:26PM[/editline] Okay. I got the overall price down to 1350$, with double GTX 480 in SLI (maybe 470 if I don't have enough money), an i7 920, 2.66 ghz, an msi x58 pro-e lga 1366. With these it was 1150$, but i added 200$ to count the ram and hdd What do you think?
get the 5970 if you aren't trolling us.
get the 5970 if you aren't trolling us.
Stop telling people they're trolling just to try and win an argument.
get the 5970 if you aren't trolling us.
He wants a different gpu, he MUST be trolling.
It hurts me when turke posts.
Hey, I still think my build was good. :colbert:
Jesus christ are you rich
No, he only has 500 right now.
It hurts me when turke posts.
good
It hurts me when turke posts.
every single time you post I die a little inside and lose a little more hope for the future of humanity
every single time you post I die a little inside and lose a little more hope for the future of humanity
Agreed. Some people's help is worse than no help at all, no offense derlicious. :colbert:
Wat
and? It's funny how the 4 series was the hottest, noisiest graphics card generation ever and no one made fun of it but as soon as NVIDIA goes a few degrees above their ATI counterparts, people jump all over it. [editline]09:19PM[/editline] what the hell is up with that 4870 X2 temperature? It should be like 110C not 87.

It's about helping people, not being all smartass about how you know stuff about pcs and he doesn't.
I can see if he needs help but what it seems like is that he's dicking around. I don't think you would put an i7 975-E in a P6T, and 2 PSUs? Gotta be trolling.
Did you just go on newegg and sort by price and then just pick out all the top items? This is a huge waste of money.
Let's help this guy out. I'll do a newegg list of the best performing stuff for a $2000 budget. k? [editline]06:01PM[/editline] Argghhh I can't be bothered. [editline]06:01PM[/editline] This guy needs to sort out his own problems
get the 5970 if you aren't trolling us.
I really wont nVidia cards. Blah Blah Blah nVidia sucks it heats up it makes noise it cooks eggs its less powerful. Okay, it's less powerful. But I have two points. 1- With a bit over the same money I'd spend for a 5970, I can buy two 470. That's a lot more powerful than the 5970. I think I may buy two 480 if I'll have enough budget at the moment I'm ready to buy. 2- nVidia cards have physx and CUDA support, so even if I'll spend more on them, that money is needed. Not ony because I love physics in games, but also because I need it for my own work (3d unbiased rendering, physical elaboration and stuff like that). So I consider it important, in my case, to have this support. The problem is that programs that make use of CUDA totally ignore OpenCL. If they would use CUDA, or OpenCL if CUDA wasn't available, I'd totally buy an ATI radeon. But that's not the case. When, and only when there will be a fair support for CUDA and Physx on ATI cards, that's the day I'll buy an ATI. Right now they are very limited in this field.

why, what did you mean
I have the same case, its very nice and the fan on top is fucking huge. Also thoes two fans in front you pull out. it confused me as hell at first, you unscrew it from the inside and pull it out from the front. Thoes suckers can hold 3 Hard drives each, not to mention it will stay cool because the fan is within 1 inch from your HDD. I have all the fans power set to low and it keeps my rig nice and cool. But you'll want to set each fan to high. Just a little info there about the case.
What don't you understand in "A 5970 is already two cards and a SLi of GTX470 won't give you double performance, but +35% at a maximum "?
2- nVidia cards have physx and CUDA support, so even if I'll spend more on them, that money is needed. Though, you have a point for CUDA, but I'd bet it'll be forgotten in less than 5 years.
