There is this thing called options you go into it can change the graphics settings off of 800 by 600.

Yeah, no.

If you've got this much moolah... Go i7, buy a pair of 5970s, Water cool the sucker, throw SSDs at loading times until they disappear beyond the event horizion and take an axe to it when you realize you've just recreated the big bang...
i'll rebuild later, thanks ti9i i'll base it off that

I doubt he would want to lan with you.
If he buys 2 pcs, he can just as well renderfarm them
What the fuck do you even read.
The OP is in the US and a gtx 480 is $200 cheaper.
You're not helping by clogging up the thread with "ur dum ATI is fasterrrrr"
The OP wants a configuration with two GTX 480's in SLI. Trying to change his mind with annoying price comparisons that aren't even in the same currency is the exact same as trolling.
And, from the article, it clearly states in the opening paragraphs that the GTX480's in SLI is way better than a 5970.
If you knew how to read, you'd know he was going for a GTX470 SLi, not a GTX480 SLi, as stated in my edit.
GTX470 is still a very good card, but extremely expensive for what it is (5970 too.)
Stop seeing trolls everywhere, thanks. I was perfectly serious.
[editline]04:14PM[/editline]
By the way, Metro 2033 isn't the only game tested. That what the "Next" clickable images are for.
[editline]04:53PM[/editline]
And why two fucking psu ?
The 5970 is worth every penny.

1$ doesnt = 1 euro?

1$ = .8 Euro
Yeh i know
I know I'm late, but people still think they need $1000+ computers to run crysis? Comon', I can run it on a 9600gt on high fine.
tbh no one needs a computer over 1500-1700 unless you really do some crazy 3d shit...
But if he wants it it's his choice..
Taking huge proco, huge (pointless) cg, and taking a Caviar GREEN (5400rpm).

Throw your GTX480 away, take a HD5970 for the same price.
Don't do that, i made that mistake and now i regret it

It's really awesome.
all you people that say LOL NVIDIA ALWAYS HAS BETTER CARDS
how much leeway did nvidia get when ati released their 5xxx series?
Have to admit that ATI is overpowering NV at their GPU in this generation.
Intel is making better CPUs than AMD, on the contrary.
Yeh but i think it is better to be ahead in the GPU market atm because more people buy 5970s and 4xx and x980...
Though on the contrary it is better to be ahead in the cheap level market of CPUs because there are alot of people buying i3's and stuff
[editline]07:41PM[/editline]

GPU:
nvidia's new 4** series are fine and match ATI pretty well.
The 480 is a valid contender in the GPU market.
See proof here:

(SLI 470 is still a bit slower then a single 5970)

Also i7 VS i5:
For the money you are spending you should really get an i7.
1:hyperthreading is important for rendering
2:It supports tripple channel Ram (So stop posting i7 builds with 4 or 8gb of ram) 6 and 12 is where it is at.

I would reccomend:
-i7-930
-2xNvidia 470, in SLI (yes 5970 is a very little bit better but he needs Nvidia)
-6gb DDR3 ram (Tripple channel)
-700w Corsair/antec/whatever good brand PSU
-Motherboard wich supports :SLI/Socket 1366/6ddr3 ram sticks in Tripple channel.
-1x 100+GB SSD (two of these if you want a raid setup for speed or backup)
-1x1TB 7200RPM Seagate or Samsung HDD
Sounds good taipan

YES! Awesome new technology such as Hypertrading and RAM IN SLI. Your rig will be awesome.
On a serious note try and get your hands on 2 decent SSDs and a RAID controller (or use built in raid software on mobo). Should make windows nice and zippy as well and applications. You could always wait for AMDs hex-core CPUs coming sometime in april or may.

Its pretty obvious what he meant
He meant that the € is meant to = the $ sign.
