Mobo only supports up to AMD2+ so I'm using

And I just bought a Nvidia GTX 460.

And then I bought an aftermarket heatsink to replace my shitty one.

And I decided to upgrade my ram because I'm currently using two different sets of Ram.

I spent a bit but it's a heavy upgrade compared to what I usually have. (I guess)
Could I have done anything better? And is this a good upgrade?
Gpu is definatly good. Think about SLI for future.
Cooler is nice, I like most zalman coolers, looks like a good investment though, i don't really know a huge amount about them though.
cpu is alright. At least it's a quad core. I would say that there isn't much point upgrading anything else until you decide you want a whole new build. Majority of things will run perfectly smooth on that.
Seeing how I'm going from Dual to Quad core.
Is there really a difference in getting a more expensive Quad Core processor? AM2+ sockets arn't that bad right? Are they still recent? And how long do you think on average it will last me until it becomes "Outdated". At the most it can play almost any current game flawlessly correct?

Together with that 460, pretty much.
Sounds like a sweet deal. Did I get it for a decent price?

That's the funniest thing about building PCs, is once you build a PC. Six months later its technically "out of date."
It's extremely expensive to keep an "up to date" PC.
And by the way. AM2+ supports AM3 CPUs. I have an AM2+/AM2 motherboard, and I'm using an AM3 dual-core.
It's still ok to have that AM2+ Quad core though right?

Oh yeah. It's totally alright. I would just suggest this over it.
