Really not a huge fan of CCFLs, but those look good with that FP logo.
Cold Cathodes can add a lot of mystique to a case with a window. People just tend to over use them and make it look like the sun is trying to bust out of their case.

I prefer them to be totally dark, although any LEDs on the motherboard are fine...but as far as fans or CCFLs go...no thanks.
True.. some people could care less about what it looks like as long as the performance is there. For instance people who complain about the Noctua NH-U12P's fan color.. who cares what color it is.. it performs great and it's quiet.
I though about putting some red cathodes in my HAF case. But of course, me being a cheap indecisive bastard I forgot about buying them. It seems like Logisys is the only maker of them. =/ is this true?
No there is an array of companies that make CCFLs

I was looking at CPU coolers on newegg, and there were two that were identical as far as I could tell, except that one had blue LEDs and was $10 more
Well, if you're gonna have a window on your case, the point of which obviously being to show off the insides, why make it totally dark so no one can see what's inside?

I can look over to my tower right now and see all the parts in my case perfectly fine. Besides, I'm not going to skip over a well made case just because it's got a window on the side and I don't want it to glow.
I'd have to agree with Zorlok in that cathodes aren't necessary to illuminate the case, and look a bit tacky in a lot of circumstances, but the main goal behind these is to illuminate the FP logo, which they do well
what brand of cathodes did you buy? also, what kind of case is that? is it a sort of custom one? I really like white lights, so i was thinking of getting some white cathodes, i don't like red / blue / purple cathodes. Also, suggestion, I actually REALLY like the effect of the sheet on the inside of the panel, you should consider doing that :p

i thought MM pinnacle 24 was just the name of the computer he was making, cause some people name their computers lol.
i thought MM pinnacle 24 was just the name of the computer he was making, cause some people name their computers lol.
I have named his PC 'Darkwing' after Darkwing Duck.
When you turn it on you will get artifacts. The good kind.
I have named his PC 'Darkwing' after Darkwing Duck.
fuckin loved that show
I have named his PC 'Darkwing' after Darkwing Duck.
your avatar made me fuckin lol

My UV lights are nice and subtle. Not tacky at all. Besides I like to show off my liquid cooling.
Gaming? In the light? You're weird.
Yes, quite weird because I actually want to keep my vision where it is :v Either way I don't like glowing cases. I prefer no lights at all whether it has a side window or not.

Also, i think that if any computer should have cathodes, they should be hidden, so you can really see them, but when you turn on you still get the light and such, it would be neat. On my build i have them hiding behind the drive bays with a button so they don't need to be on all the time.
I used to keep cathodes in my computer but they were annoying the shit out of me when watching movies etc. in the dark. I took out all my LED fans too.
If the CCFLs get annoying when you're watching movies or something, but you like them at other times, why not just install a switch somewhere on the case so that you can turn them on and off at will?
do you have any idea what better things i could do with the money you're spending, jesus
do you have any idea what better things i could do with the money you're spending, jesus
Yeah well it's my money
Yeah well it's my money
Anyway what is the total amount spent so far?
He isn't going to say.
I dare you to use peltiers in your build, apwd007. The peltier: ice cold, low efficiency, ridiculous power consumption!
