This is the first thing that I thought of when I found this thread. I really don't know what the function of this thread is other than to show a work log. Its not really a tutorial.

Hey, we have a rules thread, i suggest reading it

5. Don't make a new thread every time you upgrade your system just to brag about your new system. This doesn't mean you should troll people about mentioning they bought something. Build logs are allowed but support it with lots of good pictures and lots of info.
Well, if the specs and reviews are good then I suppose the Enermax PSU is a decent choice. I presume there isn't anything wrong with the Corsair 1000w PSU (which would have been my first choice) just you chose the better one correct?
Just trying to make sure I haven't missed any deep flaws in the Corsair brand; I've always considered them to be one of the best.
Sexy motherboard and waterblock by the way.
Corsair modular power supplies are very good, the only reason I chose the Enermax is that it's more efficient and it goes with my colour scheme better
Holy shit that's epic. Get us some specs :D
And the cost O.o
Read the thread, there are specs on the first post (and in the title), and he said he isnt going to tell us the cost because it will just start a bitch
Puh-LEEZE record the progress!! I'm sure you'd be done by nao :D
He isn't finished yet, won't be another update till early next week.
Man I like how that stuff is looking.
Just being able to have a job doesn't classify someone as rich. I work a full time job making 900$ every 2 weeks. Buying a computer is no problem but that's because I live in a small apartment paying rent. I really have no other expenses. Saving up for a new car tho.
He doesn't have a job, he sold a car that was given to him to fund this PC building adventure.
Great, my keyboard is all covered in drool now!
Looking forward to seeing the finished product.
FP case is win.
I think I orgasmed when I saw all the parts.
I am not one for looks really, but efficiency and performance are for me.
Sweet mother of jesus. That thing should be able to run the stock market without much trouble.

?? no. Computers built for gaming can't run those kinds of programs. Even if you Tri-SLI the 295's it still wouldn't be that great for 3d modeling compared to a workstation graphics card. PC's are meant to run small amounts of data really fast. Workstations (such as the computers at pixar) are made for running huge amounts of data, and the more computers you have, the faster it can run.
If the OP gets perma'd he'll be kicking himself.

you can still use them as workstation cards
Yes, but it would be less cost effective. If you want to do 3d modeling professionally, you buy workstation cards. It's like trying to run facepunch from your computer. Even if your computer is badass, it most likely doesn't have more than one CPU.
Holy sweet Jesus. I can't wait to see this finished.
Yo, I'm back, will be placing some more orders tonight or tomorrow
Awesome. Cant wait to see it finished.
cool case bro
ooo I can't wait for this to light up brighter than July 4th
You should put this on customPC.co.uk you might get in the mag for being a good builder, they give you free expensive parts if you win.
If it turns out awesome, you could also enter it for Maximum PC's rig of the month. You get your own full-page article and some type of gift card.
