Well Hell yes, then! Oh...realized my old RAM was only 800mhz. Wow, almost double difference. All the better! So, that done...now I'm almost breaking an even $500. This sounds better all the time!
You don't even need that much ram, 6GB or 4GB of DDR2 is enough these days.

Thanks, I'll check for one of those full ATX's. I have a Cooler Master Centurion case, so it ought to be big enough to hold it.
It won't run double as good just because it's twice the MHz. Edited: Pretty much the difference overall: http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/17...ce/index7.html
Yeah, I didn't expect it to. This is memory speed after all. Still, it's good to know I'm not really missing out, since supposedly the i7 manages the 1333mhz DDR3 better somehow, which I'm hoping helps the whole thing run smoothly together. Not having a bottleneck will be very nice. And while sifting through Newegg, this ATX Motherboard seems to fit the bill, but while I like Gigabyte, I'm not sure if it's up to par. Huh... Well, doing some motherboard research, I've found some interesting stuff about an ASRock board. Lots of features. A bit thin though, compared to others. Has an inch shaved off it's width. I compared it to two others, and I'm not sure... Some say the CPU fan only runs at 100% speed at all times, though with a big 120mm aftermarket cooler, this will bother me a lot less for the low noise. Especially given all my current fans run full bore, save for the GPU, and make barely a whisper of noise. Hard drive is the loudest component of my tower. Only one full x16 speed slot for PCI-Express 2.0, but I've really no intention of using more than my one powerful card... This would bring the total to about $485. Sweet. But still, would rather hear from you folks. Is this good enough for my needs, or have I overlooked something small, but crucial?
So I know that controversial cooler was suggested, but given these specs, is there any particular cooler for an LGA1156 socket that folks here might suggest? Also, still looking for feedback on that motherboard.
