Microsoft does not deny that Xbox 360's failure rate is 54 percent

Had mine 2 years, nothing yet.
I've gone through two 360's already from two different RRoD's, so Microsoft can go fuck themselves if they think I'm going to buy a third.

If mine fails i'm not buying a new 360, would be too expensive.
First 360: RROD
Second 360: RROD, no warranty.
Goddamnit :sigh:
I got my xbox on launch DAY and it has yet to have an issue. I know people who have had problems though, and I pity them.
I wasn't concerned when I bought it that it would die, even though I knew all the stories.
3 years warranty is a mighty long time and when it did eventually die I got sent a new one 2 days later
Microsoft can't buy themselves out of this one, huh.
What we need is a slim slot-loading DVD drive on the 360, so they may incorporate proper cooling to the CPU and GPU. The huge DVD drive they have in there now is just ridiculous, and limits the cooling options to their pathetic heatpipe.
I couldn't care less about the problem.
I still enjoy playing mine.
Mine always overheated, but now I ditched consoles for pc gaming.

I owned it for a year, it overheated numerous times but never died.
I went into a gaming store this summer to buy some PC games. Anyways, there was a 360 behind some glass cover which you could try some games on... IF IT WOULD HAVE WORKED. It had the RROD and I lol'd

You do know it's cheaper to manufacture a standard dvd drive, then it is to manufacture a slim-line slot-loading one??
Even though a slot loading dvd drive would be nice.
I had my xbox since they added that falcon chip shit. Hasnt crashed once. Only when I found out the console freezing exploit :smug:
the first gen 360s had i high failure rate but the newer consoles have a much lower failure rate
I still have the first gen and it's never RRD'd
I still find it pretty rediculous how people go "My 360's a launch console and havent died". In this day and age, shouldn't we demand that our console's work normally when treated good?
I have a fully functional SNES and a Nintendo 64 and they both have been treated like shit at times. Controller's have been thrown on the floor and AT THE FUCKING CONSOLE'S THEMSELVES without them malfunctioning.
So why should you have to worry about cutting edge modern console's break down while you're just playing normally? It's bullshit if you ask me.
I've had my 360 for about 6 days, no problems what so ever
Every Xbox 360 I've ever owned has died. I've owned 3 of them. That's 100% fail rate.
Every PS3 I've ever owned has worked flawlessly. I've only purchased one. That's 0% fail rate.
too bad those are hilariously small sample sizes. if your 360s die thrice you are probably improperly using them (eg poor storage causing overheating).

It is, I still have 2 super Nintendo's that work fine yet I took my xbox and put it on a golden pillow surrounded by beautiful women and lots of fans and it still fucking breaks.:eng99:
Oh well, it's because they rushed the system to release too soon. This has been discussed way too much.
If your xbox360 breaks, go outside, your playing it too much.
yay using 90nm amd cores!
54 percents... What the fuck! PS3 has, like 1%? Seriously, they'd better do something about that... 54%...
3% actually. :eng101:
I bought two (2) of the damn things last year. I don't know if the RedDeer Wal-Mart abused the things but the first one died within a week of purchase and the second one dies after almost four weeks. After the second one failed, I said fuck it and went to a pawn shop and bought a SNES and some (20) games for $70 and that kept me and my co-workers busy for the rest of the summer then sold it and some of the games back to the pawn shop for $15 and kept the remaining the games as I own an SNES back at home in BC.
And this, my friends, is why I am a PC gamer.
You all just don't know how to take care of your things.
I have an original xbox 360 from launch. The only problem i have encountered is that the cd drive gets stuck from time to time and all i have to do to fix it is tap it while it's trying to open. I use the thing a lot too.
i have 3 360's and only one RROD. and that was the older gen.

True, the average time a 360 can live BEFORE getting RROD'd is about a year and a half, if it is under a year, you have obviously treated it like crap. Not YOU of course, the guy you quoted.
Well I've had my unit since uh...May of 06, no issues at all. Granted I did have a launch unit at first but I had traded that one away before any problem could arise.

Most owners of the 360 doesn't keep it in a well ventilated place, while most ps3 users are downright nervous of overheating.

True, because most if not all of my freinds have an Xbox 360, and they NEVER put it anywhere ventilated, tit is always shoved inside a cupboard under the TV or something with a few holes in the back for the wires and stuff.
