• Setting up a GTX 570 as PhysX card alongside a 670?

I suppose this counts as tech support. I have a 570 that was replaced by a 670, and i was wondering if there were a way to set it up as a PhysX only card to offset some of the load that my 670 endures while playing games with PhysX capability. Using google didn't lead me to any answers. I mostly got a mix of "waste of time" and "overheats northbridge".
You should just be able to plug it in(without the SLI bridge) and set it as a PhysX card in the Nvidia control panel.
It should work like IpHa said, but its quite ridiculous to use a 570 as a physx card. You're going to double the power draw and heat production in your computer for hardly any benefit.
It's all i have available, sure i could get a less powerful card, but i have adequate cooling, and a 1200W PSU, so i think i'll be fine.
You could always sell the 570 on ebay to some idiot for more than you paid for it new and use terrible uneducated salesman logic ITS 600 GHZ, BY ADDING UP ALL THE CORES!!!! MAXIMUM POWER11!!1! :downs: Then you could get a more sensible and less power hogging GPU to use for physx offloading
I installed it, and set it as a dedicated PhysX GPU, and so far, so good. Power consumption isn't an issue with my system, and i'm not gonna sell it, mainly because there's no point in spending a few weeks trying to sell an outdated card, just so i could get a 640 for physx. Not a bad idea, i just don't have the time to fuck with selling it. But i'd rather not have it sit in a plastic box collecting dust. My question was answered, no need for this thread anymore.
