Take the key off and clean it and around it, then snap it back on. It should work after that.

I have no idea why poor OP didn't think of this yet himself.
Maybe he did though, and just didn't tell us.
Probably too late now anyway, even if you bought a new one Peacekid, try it out, then tell us.
I always hate when I buy new stuff then realise I could've fixed the old stuff for much less money or even free.
