[editline]13th June 2012[/editline] Little do they know, I got my compiled XBMC to at least launch yesterday. Still needs to work to prevent crashing, but this is the beginning of the end of Raspbmc.
Hopefully you get running. Nothing would make my day more than your distro overtaking his.

I've always thought it was silly to have distros like Mythbuntu or whatever when it's just one package install away from vanilla Ubuntu/Debian/etc. [editline]14th June 2012[/editline] I wasn't able to fix XBMC today though. I get to the menu, but I can't get any further. Like when I go to Videos -> Files all I can see is the background wallpaper of XBMC. If I stay in the menus long enough the raspi will eventually freeze up.
I got my raspberry pi on last friday, I am getting used to it quite quickly. But guess what? They accidently sent me 2 raspberry pis
Am I the only one impressed by this? The mobo is a credit-card sized piece and it runs quake 3. (Not that Quake 3 is much).
It also plays 1080p videos flawlessly. I love my pi! [editline]14th June 2012[/editline]
I bought one and it's been on back order since March and I kind of feel as if I haven't done something as it has the 'order confirmed' text in red and nothing's really happening and I feel stupid.
I would be worried if your still on a back order. I ordered mine the day it came out and have owned 2 since then!

Bit of advice for budding raspi owners, make sure you have a powered usb hub. The ports on the pi do not provide enough power to run much at all (read wifi and bluetooth dongles).

I just need a raspi now :) I'm planning to run a non-wireless-printer connected to the raspi, so it suddently becomes wireless! I've got a few Linux magic tricks for that one. Also media streaming center, except reversed. Streaming media TO the raspi for playing movies and all that stuff on my fiances flatscreen. Should be rad.
