you don't remember, safety first I hope you intend to use the standard cotton suit, could be in deep shit if you don't
What?
Dude, just shut up, im asking for help, either give some or leave. IM not trooling, right now, it looks like you're the one trolling, at least there were 2 people nice enough to give me advice. The faster i get to deciding, the faster im gone.
Here pick this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229157&cm_re=cyberpower_pc-_-83-229-157-_-Product or build this: [editline]06:07PM[/editline]
Well, im obviously not able to use it before it is built, am i? Why do i need to ground myself while im building it, if im not gonna have it plugged in?
The static that your body, clothes, and environment around generate gets stored in your body and clothes, you just need to touch the case before you touch the components, and don't wear wool, cotton, and don't rub you socks over the carpet [editline]06:08PM[/editline] If you don't discharge the static before you begin you have a greater chance to fry the part you touched

Also, thanks for not being an asshole like the rest of the crowd. One more thing, what (Besides the fan) is the last thing on your parts list?
Or i can buy one of those grounding wristbands? Also, thanks for not being an asshole like the rest of the crowd.
Just touch the case, saves you $5 and it works, and don't forget standoffs
What? Ground? Its not even gonna be plugged in... so why do i need to be grounded?
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah. You're trolling right? Okay, I'll tell you: It's not about protecting you from the components, but vice versa. When you walk around you pick up a small electrostatic charge. This is the same thing you can shock people with by rubbing your feet on a shag carpet and touching them. When you touch the components it all gets directed into them, completely wrecking them even if you didn't feel a thing. You need to get rid of the charge by touching a metal object, in this case, the case. [sp]No pun intended[/sp] [editline]12:14AM[/editline] fff ninjas everywhere
Just touch the case, saves you $5 and it works, and don't forget standoffs
Quick question, never built a computer, but what are standoffs?
No, you lost because you pulled bullshit claims out of your ass. [editline]12:02AM[/editline] you couldn't come up with a reliable source to support you
You didn't even have any sources.

OH GOD, HOW DID I FORGET THE MOTHERBOARD IN MY BUILD!:aaaaa:
You didn't even have any sources.
You have to come up with sources, you said they are shit and unreliable.
Uh oh :D Add it quick! Also, you're sure this comes with instructions? I dont want to be deadset.
yes, and if they dont, google is your friend
If you are not going to be overclocking, I might suggest not getting the Cooler Master Cooler and Thermal paste, as those ones are a bit tricky to install Here is how to build a computer: 1. Get case out of box, remove packing protection 2. Open up side of it, if there is a paper with letters on it taped to the back use it to place stand offs for the ATX motherboard, or use the manual that came with it (They might be already installed) 3.Place the Power Supply in the case, where it is supposed to go 4. Touch the case to remove static 5. Take the motherboard out, do not touch the sides, and place it on top of the anti-static bag it came in. 6. On the motherboard, take the lever next to the cpu socket and lift it up, and take the CPU socket protector out 7. Take the cpu out, hold it by the sides, and line the triangles on the corner of the CPU and socket up. If it does not fit do not force it. 8. Install the cooler that came with it (use manual or youtube for that) 9. Install ram(use manual to see which sockets to place it in) (do not touch the gold pins on it) 10. Install GPU (do not touch the gold pins on it) 11. Install Hard Drive 12. Install Optical drive 13. Attach the cords, to the right, plugs, and power it up
You have to come up with sources, you said they are shit and unreliable.
I quoted a reputable article. I used nothing to defend that they are shit
why are you telling the toll to ignore us?
I don't mean to fuel the flame, but the only trolls I see here are the ones spouting out OP IS TROLL AAAA, and not OP himself.
http://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=33861612&f=189 Here's a great step by step guide to building a pc, with extremely helpful pictures, hope this helps.
OKay, no touching MOBO sides, so just lift it from the bottom?
OKay, no touching MOBO sides, so just lift it from the bottom?
By sides I think he means top and bottom, you should hold it by the edges.
One, im not building a computer. Two, what is wrong with what i said about IE, taskbar, and bing. I want to know what the hell is wrong with those things. Also, i want to know how i'm trolling, just because i cant build a goddamn computer, nor do i want to. I do not have time to sit down and try to put together a computer, and ending up breaking it an hour later, i am very busy, and i need this fast, and effort free, i want one prebuilt, or ill just use my wii and look up on nintendo's website how to use printers. I ask a fucking simple question for people to answer, can anyone get me a cheap prebuilt computer that is good for gaming and working altogether. INstead i get flamed for lacking the smarts to use a computer. If it makes a difference, i had to bring my computer down to the store downtown to get a ram card installed, that is how much computer smarts i lack. /rant
Most people here are borderline professional computer builders/programmers, they can be close minded that others don't know as much as they do. If you want help getting a good pre-built head to pc building follow the guidelines in the sticky and don't forget to tell them you want a prebuilt.

I built my friend a PC last Thursday for a few slices of pizza.
no you didnt
Yes I did
Yes I did
No, you linked a biased, unpopular site.
No, you linked a biased, unpopular site.
This comment is baseless.
This comment is baseless.
just like your source

FHamster, to be fair, you absolutely did not cite a source [editline]03:50PM[/editline] until you provide us with the source, and it has to be something trustworthy, you're essentially typing with a rectal prolapse
