Bit of a thread hijack, but what card would you say was a good upgrade from an 8800GT cost/perf. increase wise?

Shit man, I'm on a budget!
$1,400
Bit of a thread hijack, but what card would you say was a good upgrade from an 8800GT cost/perf. increase wise?
5850 anything less isn't really worth the cost for the increase you get
5850 anything less isn't really worth the cost for the increase you get
You've got to be kidding
You've got to be kidding
I hope he is...
no he is correct
what sounds better: -paying $150 for a card that will get you slightly better FPS for a few months then put you in exactly the same situation you are now -paying $300 for a card that will get you much better FPS now and last a couple of years
http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php?card1=575&card2=615 I'd want to pay $150 because in a few years time, the 5850 will be very affordable. My 8500GT never lost performance, when I've had it for a while.
why are you bothering comparing an nVidia and ATi card on specs alone, do you know nothing okay sure, you pay $150 then in 2 years get a 5850 for $200. congratulations you've paid $50 more than you would have if you'd bought it in the first place and ended up in exactly the same position
okay sure, you pay $150 then in 2 years get a 5850 for $200. congratulations you've paid $50 more than you would have
Or go with your idea and spend $150 more than you would have It's simple math, really
It's simple math, really
buying now = $300 buying 2 cards = estimated $350 why yes it is simple math, 350 is a bigger number than 300
hmm..all i can say is that 9800 GT you have is still great, wouldn't be much difference if you get the 5750 or 5770. Save the money you have for something else better. its not worth it if you upgrade now even if its not your money.
Meh, the problem with thread hijacks, who are you talking about now? I said I had an 8800GT, the OP has an 9800GT
meh, the problem with thread hijacks, who are you talking about now? I said i had an 8800gt, the op has an 9800gt
8800gt = 9800gt
8800gt = 9800gt
Yeah, it's why they have different names.
Yeah, it's why they have different names.
rebrands
