Decent CPU, good RAM, good HDD, horrible GPU, and shit PSU and case.
Stick with the custom build. Sometimes you can find good barebones kits, but this isn't one of them.

Yeah just stick with the build I posted.
You don't know jack shit about this do you? You'll get plenty of airflow from the Antec 300. It's not like his $500 build is gonna blow up. It will be plenty cool inside there.
And further more the Antec 300 is on sale for $50. That's a steal! It's normally $90.
Get out.
Considering the 300 only comes with 2 fans (1 on the top and 1 in the back), there isn't a direct blow across the case, so no, the airflow sucks. Getting the Lancool will be a much smarter decision. You get a side window, a black interior, 4 fans, dust filters, cable management holes and clips, A RETENTION BRACKET HOLE, and a tooless system that actually works. There's no reason not to buy it.
Resorting to the use of profanity doesn't help your argument either. Maybe you should "get out".

Look at this, the K62 in its glory:

i want it to run very quickly
very smothly
and i want to be able to do at least a little bit of gaming
thanks for all the help

And I'm guessing the side window makes it faster huh?

Jealous much?
Jealous much?
he doesn't need a fucking 130 dollar case for a beginner build
I have a 300, and i think it's wonderful, I've modded it to include everything you've said, black interior, 5 fans, a window, dust filters, cable management holes, and that adds up the total to about 70 dollars on everything
lian li = not worth it
now that i think more, 60 dollars actually

Oh, sure thing.

Yes. Thank you.
I'm sure all other Facepunch users will agree that the Antec 300 is absolutely marvelous for the price.

It's fucking brilliant for the price. One of my favorite cases I've ever owned

Okay, so you'd rather settle for an overrated piece of crap. I thought he was a beginner. Do you really expect him to mod his case? The K62 is very easy to work with since everything is tooless (even the motherboard screws).

Not me. I was really dissatisfied with the 300 when I used it in a build for a friend as I've stated before.
[editline]03:28AM[/editline]
Really, I don't know why you're forcing this guy to settle for less when he can get something much more worthwhile.

It's not overrated. It's really good for the price. If it was say 120 like your glorious lian li it would be overrated. And yes, I would expect him to mod his 300, my 300 was my first case mod, and it turned out great.

You have proven to me that you have never worked with a quality case like a Lian Li before. The difference between it and the 300 is night and day; Lian Li wins hands down in terms of ease of use, features, and build quality.
GG.

I get your point that you're saying lian li is a quality case. You've said that like 2405720 times. BUT IT'S IMPRACTICAL FOR THIS GUY. He should buy a lower end case, and focus more on performance. He doesn't need some ricey LEEEEDS LIGHTS case with all that fancy shit. He needs something that gets the job done. Judging by what hes getting, he doesn't need 4 fans. He needs like 1. You shouldn't buy an extrememly nice case unless your buying an extremely nice system. Here's an example.
you could buy this TOTALLY AWESOME lian li pc60-fnw
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811112252
o wait its 170
OR
you could buy this cm centurion for 50 and save 120
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119047
with the extra money you could buy another gpu and crossfire
lian li = not for low budget builds
you have proven to me you don't take into account that other people don't have as much money as you, and that you are ignorant of what other people do and don't need
"gg"
i managed to get back on
i realised that the only place i can really go to get my pc components is tiger direct so unless i can get all those components from there id really appreciate it if you can come up with another build and again sorry for not mentioning that befor
Fun fact: My studio has a workstation in a Lian Li PC-9. It's my least favourite case. Out of all the cases I own, with the exception of a few Optiplex cases and a piece of shit from 1992, the Lian Li is the worst.

I like how you've completely resorted to trolling me because you know that I'm right.
Though I will admit, the PC-61 is pretty nice for the price. But then, I would never pay over $109 for a mid tower.

He needs 1 fan? Don't make me laugh. The bottom line minimum is 2 if you want half-decent airflow (unless you're using 2 Scythe Ultra Kaze 3000RPM fans). It's nowhere near impractical for him. In fact, it will even FACILITATE his building process with the amount of features packed in. Also, it's nowhere near achieving the status of a ricer case. "Oooh, a blue led fan, I'm going to die." It's not the cheap shit you see with NZXT or Antec. If he doesn't want that he can get the K58 or K56 and they'll still be better than almost all the cases under 100 dollars.

I'd pretty much go with all the parts that ghostofme or whatever recommended except for the case.

Please, don't tell me you're being serious.
I wouldn't call it the prettiest case, but we're talking about quality here. Looks are subjective.

but im wondering wether or not i can buy all those parts at tiger direct?

It doesn't really have any attractive features considering its price (except for being aluminum), looks really cramped, and has a swinging door for the front bezel. No thanks.
here, 525 with the rebate

He said he can only buy from TigerDirect.
+1 Bad reading.
+1 for you too :D
he said quality not aesthetics
I never mentioned aesthetics. The lack of "attractive features" means that the case doesn't have very good features for the price, which is an important aspect of a case when you buy one. Features as in tooless, cooling, retention bracket hole, ventilation, cable management, etc.
You really can't read, can you?
