There's Ubuntu Phone coming up, maybe there's a tablet version too.
Deifinately sounds like it's possible! But, isn't there any hacking thing I can do to my device to improve it further?

Its a placebo, its operations just cause Android to ramp up the CPU speeds.

Yea it's slow but it knows how to launch and stuff and doesn't take ages but using it like swiping it tends to freeze for a few milliseconds or something like that.

You're basically not gonna find a natively booting Linux distro on any kind of Android tablet unless its EXTREMELY popular, the most you can do is chroot + VNC really. I recommend just looking up rooting directions for the thing and seeing if you can install a custom ROM..Though the thing is underpowered as it is, running some random cheap Cortex A8 chip with 512MB of RAM, you're not likely to get great performance out of it.

Guess I'm gonna use it for a media device :v:
That's all you can really do, though you can also try a few different launchers (Nova launcher is pretty nice) and browsers (Lightning Browser is nice and speedy)
I'm already running Nova Launcher but I just want it smoother, none than less I'm getting a new tablet at some point, just gotta get the best out of this one until then!
I installed elementary OS on my netbook, personally I think the UI is sexy, seems to be running faster than normal Ubuntu too. For a laugh I thought I'd try the Steam Beta, but the Intel Accelerator just doesn't cut it :v:
That's all you can really do, though you can also try a few different launchers (Nova launcher is pretty nice) and browsers (Lightning Browser is nice and speedy)
I want to add that Lightning Launcher is also a great lightweight launcher which allows for total freedom in widget placement (you must enable this from its settings). You can scale, rotate and place widgets, apps, folders anywhere and in any way possible. It also allows you to set up shortcuts to apps/functions by sliding across the screen in a certain direction with either one finger or two fingers (multitouch phones).
I just tried installing Half Life on my notebook, but it just spat the following error at me: Error:libsteam_api.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Could not load hw.so. If I try running it using Steam, the Play button does nothing. Any idea how to troubleshoot this issue?
What are you using to run HL? Standard WINE or something else?

It's also to try get other developers to follow
Going to try arch again. Both times I've tried I failed on the install, both by label misnaming or something, which I don't know how to fix. Anyone wants to help by any chance? [editline]28th January 2013[/editline] It gives me the following error:
ERROR: '/dev/disk/by-label/' device did not show up after 30 seconds... Falling back to interactive prompt You can try to fix the problem manually, log out when you are finished sh: can't access tty: job control turned off [rootfs /]#

Did you generate the GRUB config [editline]28th January 2013[/editline] Wait, no, do you mean the install media did not show up?
I guess it's the later. I have no idea what you mean with the GRUB config.
I guess it's the later. I have no idea what you mean with the GRUB config.
Well basically you have to check what label it tries to use and label the install media with that same label. Which you can do from Windows. The label is the name you can set in Properties. [editline]28th January 2013[/editline] I mean assuming you run Windows. I don't know how you'd do it on a Mac. If you're already on Linux I'm presuming you'd know how to find a labeling tool.

In the Wiki it states that Unetbootin would break the installation process, and that is the tool I used, so I'll try another one to see if it works. [editline]28th January 2013[/editline] Ok, it works now. I'll give you guys a heads up if I get a problem. Thanks!
Is it just me or is the default font(s) on Linux (for me I'm speaking Mint 13 - Cinnamon) like, squished? They're really weird, some bold where it looks like it shouldn't and some pressed together, definately a big change on the visual when coming from a Windows OS.

I use Droid Sans and Droid Sans Mono Slashed in most places and everything seems normal.
I'm trying to make my own xfwm4 theme from scratch, but I have no idea what to write in each .xpm file and in the themerc file. I've tried looking for tutorials, but all I could find is this much info which doesn't explain the full potential of .xpm files and the themerc file. Could anybody please link me to a better tutorial or explain me the full powers of these files?
I'm about to give KDE a try now along with Fedora, any tips or "heads up" on stuff? I've only used KDE once before and that was only a few weeks, didn't really customize it all. Only moved a bit around and changed the boot screen! [editline]29th January 2013[/editline] Oh and the install says my HDD only has 2.36 MB free space? It's a 1.5 TB.. This isn't true. And it doesn't ask if I want to erase it or anything?
