TF2 runs fine for me (about 300MB overhead in wine, plus a few minutes extra to start it up), minecraft is native, warsow is a great fps which offers more than a lot of the crap which passes for a AAA game released today, the humble bundles have given me quite a few native linux games to toy around with, and if you aren't too picky dwarf fortress was also a lot of fun while I played it. Oh, and I almost forgot 0ad, which although in heavy development is still playable and fun. [editline]20th August 2012[/editline] also, warsow is entirely free and is being developed again (1.0 just came out)
My wm works well enough now, I just need to upload it to github. Would anyone like to help me test it? It's a tiling only window manager. (However, it tiles EVERYTHING, including any popup windows or stuff like conky)

Thank you guys. Here's the link to the github: https://github.com/neos300/yawn Clone it, ./configure, make. You don't need to make install. (If you do want to make install, then configure it with --prefix=/usr unless you want it to reside in /bin) Also, install dmenu. Currently it uses xterm as it's terminal, but you don't have to use it. In your .xinitrc comment out whatever exec you currently have, and write 'exec /path/to/yawn', then do startx. Commands (these are all in combonation with mod4, which is usually the windows key): r - run, opens up a dmenu prompt so you can launch something t - opens up xterm, you can use something else with dmenu if you want e - exits [editline]20th August 2012[/editline] I'll learn how to make a PKGBUILD in a second and make one.
I also won't be home for another hour or two, but when I get back I'll build it and test.
Alright, thanks. Also, mod4 + s is to switch desks (there are only 2)
I am having a huge issue here. My Xubuntu setup stopped recognizing my WLAN card and I am about to lose wired connectvity too. It's a T61 with sn Intel 4965agn internal WLAN card. Lspci, lshw and ifconfig doesn't find it. It happened after I updated to the latest compat-wireless, tried uninstall, didn't work.
the repo only contains out of README.md? am I missing something here?
Woops sorry, forgot to push. It's pushed now, also I added a pkgbuild to the git repo. (It's freestanding and will download the source from my webhost)

My bad. Run 'touch COPYING' for now, I'll fix it in the git repo. [editline]20th August 2012[/editline] Fixed.

[t]http://i.imgur.com/cQ86v.jpg[/t] Also, I guess it doesen't detect multiple displays yet, as it assumes I only have 1 big display.
Thanks! Multiple displays is something I'm planning on working on next, and getting popup windows to be floating. Is your mouse a black X by the way? It is for me and I'm not sure why it's doing that.

Oh my clusterfucking god. I have almost forgot how bad-ass Arch Linux was. After playing with the installation scripts and configuring it, I'm gonna wait patiently for Steam for Linux. I think I am never gonna use Windows again. [thumb]http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/606/heilarch.png[/thumb]

[thumb]http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/606/heilarch.png[/thumb]
Is that MATE? I have it on my desktop, and it's fabolous!
Yes, It's MATE with Compiz + Emerald. The visual theme is Adwaita-Equinox with Zukitwo window borders for Emerald. The original GTK2 Equinox was very buggy. Also the Icon theme is Faenza with monochrome tray icons. GNOME 2 was an epic win back in the old days. It's actually sad that it got dumped by the tablet loving GNOME 3. Also, this thread and its posters made me install Arch Linux again. I love you guys. <3 Oh look, there is Katawa Shoujo in AUR! Compiling...
Yawn pkgbuild worked great, but unfortunatley my desktop's keyboard lacks a Mod4 key. I switched it to Mod1 in the source and everything is working as advertised :v: Keep up the good work, and please focus on the keyboard rather than the mouse
Oh look, there is Katawa Shoujo in AUR! Compiling...
Wait, it's in AUR? ...So it seems. Maybe I should install it from the AUR, then, instead of managing my local copy as-is.
Wait, it's in AUR? ...So it seems. Maybe I should install it from the AUR, then, instead of managing my local copy as-is.
Pro-tip: Play in fullscreen mode to avoid ear-raping noise.
Pro-tip: Play in fullscreen mode to avoid ear-raping noise.
I got none of that when I played the entirety of Hanako's path, so I'm presuming I'm good.

I don't plan to use the mouse at all except to change the positioning of the windows (and that's a maybe), or if I ever decide to make it dynamic and include a floating mode (I probably won't). I do need to add multiple tiling modes, and a bar at the top. [editline]20th August 2012[/editline] Also, I removed the PKGBUILD from the git repo so I could make it check out from the git repo, it is now located here: http://sprunge.us/ieFX

This is a real thing. http://fsv.sourceforge.net
I want something that looks like the thing in Hackers.
wow trying to compile that is a nightmare, gave up
wow trying to compile that is a nightmare, gave up
took me around 3 seconds. if you use the pkgfile, you can just type in
sudo pacman -S dmenu makepkg sudo pacman -U *.xz
You need dmenu installed, or else it doesen't work.

[thumb]http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/606/heilarch.png[/thumb]
Steam for Linux is only coming for Ubuntu apparently, but some clever so-and-so will most likely go ahead and make a PKGBUILD ASAP once it's out.
