Scuzzy? I love him:

I had to remove Thinkpoint from a neighbor's computer
I did it for free, because he's pretty awesome, he was talking about "not taking prisoners" (he's a war veteran so he uses all these analogies)
but the goddamn thing reinstalled itself
I showed a guy how to delete System32. Didn't do it, just showed. He tried on his computer, fucked up. Oh crap what have I done! (In school!)

Clean install Windows. Don't reformat though - later versions will move all the old shit into "Windows.old" and he can just go get what he needs and delete that when he's done.
Oh god I think the guys next to me think the internet speed = RAM.
And that a DDOS can be done on a home pc (that can take down paypal)

explain that a Distributed Denial of Service attack cannot be a Distributed Denial of Service attack unless it is Distributed
:science:
Here is one on comcast.

Can't wait to move and get FIOS
Ahahahhahaha
I seriously hope no gamer is foolish enough to believe Comcast could give them better frame rates.s
Maybe they are talking about Onlive :v:

Even though I don't think it drops frames when there's insuffecient bandwidth
You CAN see whether a disk is empty or not by checking the reading side. There's s difference in how the light reflects off of it.
But since they had labels anyway...
I know that you can see it, but why bother when they have labels?
That's what I had in my mind, sorry if I wasn't clear enough :)
Not really computer illiterate but it's the closest thing to content I'm going to be able to provide;
We were going to work with Java and the teacher had decided to hand out discs with Java and Netbeans on them to prevent the students from bogging down the network with all the downloading.
On mine there was the Java SE installer, Netbeans installer and a half an hour long porn movie.

Wait, the disc had porn on it? Surely it's a teacher who burned the disc, right?
I asked the teacher about it and apparently the students in the class before ours burned them
So theres a chance that every single disc is like that.

Reinstalled itself? How? I removed it some weeks ago from one I knows computer, and she had no problems afterwards.. Evolution?
There is no DRM on most of my games :colbert:

Steam IS drm
There is no DRM on most of my games :colbert:

Steam IS the DRM
And the patch talked about, is pretty much like permanent offline mode.
Steam IS drm
The difference being that Steam is DRM done right.
Steam is best DRM.

Maybe not a DDOS, but a DOS attack can certainly be pulled off if one's uploading speed is suffice.

Against a real site? Not gonna happen.
Only way you're going to cause a DoS with one home PC is by doing some actual hacking.
That guy who took that intro to programming course posted another Facebook status.

Think again
Mac OS is somewhat lower-overhead and more memory-efficient than Windows, and it's faster to use a syscall on, but the GPU drivers are shit. Gaming-wise, you'll be lucky to break even. But for CPU-based stuff, it's a bit faster than Windows.
GPU drivers are absolutely shit, I get 6 fps in Mac TF2, 30 on Windows (same macbook).
People piss me off if they think that the P in 1080p stands for pixel.
I get pissed of alot.
[editline]15th December 2010[/editline]
Also people that think TF2 has the worst graphics ever.
You think thats bad, my lot have only heard of two FPS's. Call of duty and Halo.
Walking down the hallway today from English to Math/Science/Technology.

"192.168.1.1"
"It didn't work. I need the mac address."
"No, you need the IP."
"Yeah, but my computer is a mac."
