I laughed at this way too much, then just sat staring at the screen in disappointment because technical humour can make me laugh extensively.

I was asking around in computing and apart from 2 people, nobody had heard of Valve, Lionhead or Bullfrog. I was disappointed, to say the least.

The exact same here, for the most part.
My school has a TF2 Sixth Former. Meaning you hear 'Demoman?' in the background.
You do realize blu-ray looks better than regular DVD's?

My school only cares about Xbox 360, Call Of Duty, cell phones, and Halo

who?
You do realize blu-ray looks better than regular DVD's?
Quite clearly. Won't make games better
who?
I've heard of both, and I even sit under a rock 90% of the time I'm on the internet and off.
...
Yes, I am extremely oblivious to many things.
When I want to check something on Facebook at school, I use Lynx over SSH on my file server, and my teacher came up behind me, and was just like "So are you hacking now?". Because remember, terminal = hacking. But he's a pretty cool guy and understood when I told him it was a text based web browser.

that's all correct where is the illiterate part?
a gig is 1024mb silly
that's all correct where is the illiterate part?
nitpicky, but they should know better; at least according to wikipedia, Gb is the symbol for gigabit, while GB is the symbol for gigabyte, they are different
All units of memory are to a power of 2.
a gig is 1024mb silly
no 1 GiB is 1024 MiB
binary and decimal data prefixes are different

but it's still all correct
ok buttsex i apologising for confusing my GiB and my gigs

no, "Gigabytes (Gb)" heavily implies that Gb is the symbol for gigabytes which, unless I'm mistaken (which i may be, in which case I have just made a fool of myself but oh well), it is not.
[editline]15th December 2010[/editline]
this is a stupid argument anyway i'm going to bed
a gig is 1024mb silly
Unless you're a hard drive manufacturer. Then, it's whatever you want.
To quote Western Digital: "As used for storage capacity, one megabyte (MB) = one million bytes, one gigabyte (GB) = one billion bytes, and one terabyte (TB) = one trillion bytes. Total accessible capacity varies depending on operating environment. As used for buffer or cache, one megabyte (MB) = 1,048,576 bytes. As used for transfer rate or interface, megabyte per second (MB/s) = one million bytes per second, megabit per second (Mb/s) = one million bits per second, and gigabit per second (Gb/s) = one billion bits per second."
my computing teacher is thick as shit.
what's bigger, magnetic tape or hard drive
my computing teacher is thick as shit.

I've seen up to 3 TB magnetic tapes, but they're rare. still cheaper than 3 TB disk drives though.

Well, an LTO-8 is 12.8 TB of data. Don't think you can get a hard drive that size yet.
That's raw size, by the way. Compressed, it's supposed to reach 32TB.

Magnetic Tape.

You must know of at least one of these games.

Well, what did your teacher think?

Mb and Gb
Megabits and Gigabits?
Also, viruses are created purely to annoy and destroy data. Not for profit. I mean, who would think of keylogging bank details or Steam accounts with several hundred dollars worth of games?
