Well, if we're doing "stupid shit we thought back in the day", I may as well make myself content:
Christmas. 1998. I was about six or seven. My aunt got me a brand-new Game Boy Color and Pokemon Blue. Well, Blue was sold-out, so I got a card saying "we'll send it in the mail as soon as the preorder comes in". I was still ecstatic. I opened up the Game Boy, expecting to be able to play the crummy built-in games like Solitaire or something. Took me forever to realize that my Game Boy... had no games. I just assumed it would be like a full computer, with multiple games on hard drive. Silly me.
Coincidentally, I found my old Game Boy Advance while I was digging for parts for my new PC project. Guess what game was in it?
Pokemon.
Fucking.
Blue.
I still have my two gameboy colors, one is blue and the other is lime green. In the green one? Pokemon Blue. Fuck yeah.

I worked my little 8 year old ass off for friends around where we lived and bought that game, first one I ever paid for myself. It and the Yellow my parents got me for my tenth are the only GB games I have left for the original.

I had the green one with some bootleg "100-in-1" game. Didn't know half the games but shit was fun.
When I was 7, I left my Gameboy Pocket outside during winter. It was covered in snow the next day when I remembered about it. I tried to turn it on but the screen was glitchy, so I thought it would be a good idea to heat it up.
I put it in the microwave.

Bwahaha.
Sue the microwave company, they broke your Gameboy!
Since this has gone in the direction if terrible things + Pokemon, I'll go off-topic a bit.
I was playing Pokemon Silver as a little kid, dropped it accidentally, it froze.
Rebooted my Gameboy.
Save reset.
So. much. rage.

Similar thing happened to me on Pokemon Blue.
Neighbor comes over, grabs game boy and turns on, then he goes "oh hey one of those game thingies" "selects START NEW GAME"
I raged hard, it took me years to get as far as I was in that game.
This thread makes me glad that my dad is a programmer for Chase :buddy:
He taught me how to program.

What happened afterward :v:
What happened afterward :v:
Well, I popped it in and went to take a piss, figuring it would be good as new when I got back. About 17 seconds after I left, my sister started screaming. The plastic and the paper cover of the game I had plugged in(coincidentally, Pokemon Red) had caught fire.
Suddenly, I had a $150 paperweight.
Well somebody isn't very smart are they
Steam and Valve coming together?
Multiple spelling mistakes?
After I told him he's an idiot for thinking this will work he got all pissy and spammed me with 800 emails. . . .
Which all went under a single inbox entry.
Speaking of pokémon, I can't find the charger to my DS Lite :saddowns: Now I can't play pokémon
Heehee, I still have Blue, Red, Yellow, Silver (can't save anymore, tragic stuff), emerald, ruby, sapphire, fire red and leafgreen lying around here somewhere.
It should suffice to say that car trips on holidays were very quiet.
Right now, i am SO tired of our school computers, their 512mb memory when the min req for win 7 is 1gb and WONT CONNECT TO THE WIRELESS!!!
If i had admin i might be able to fix it, but i dont.
Also, shutdown -i is not blocked.
Oh boy, part of this assignment sheet says "Locate the following website for pictures of World War 1 medals"
It is followed by the 100 character google image URL, with all the "&oe=utf-8&um=1&ie=UTF-8" shit in it
Funny thing is, half my class probably sat there typing every letter in one by one when searching "World war 1 medals" says the exact same thing :v:

Be lucky you even have Windows 7 and 512MB Ram at school.

And the fact cmd isn't blocked entirely
FFS, my mom had problems with some scrabble program and she wanted to reinstall it because she fucked up the settings and it wouldn't start properly, I deleted all the files but i let the shortcuts stay because i would reinstall it shortly after.
Mom - "You haven't uninstalled the program properly"
Me - "It's just a shortcut it wont matter"
Mom - "I want it all gone"
Me (Slightly annoyed) - "No need too, it only tells the system where the file is located, It won't fuck up the install"
Mom - "It's still there, delete it
Me (Angered) - "All the settings will be reset even if the file is there, we can let it be there. Everything will be allright"
Mom - "NONONO IT MUST GO OR IT WONT REINSTALL"
Me (Rage) - FFFFFFFFFFFFFF-
*I proceed remove the shortcut so she will stop bugging me*
Mom (Notices program icon in task bar) - "It's still there, delete it"
*I put her laptop to the side and I then proceed to stand up and walk away."
She was told by the author of the program about this issue, she now bugs me about fucking around with the windows registry.
She entered my room right now and started to bug me about it again. I have now fixed the issue.
That's pretty douchey of you, you could've just done what she said and deleted the icons
That's pretty douchey of you, you could've just done what she said and deleted the icons
I think it's a case of "why bother, it won't change anything at all"
It isn't too much effort just to click delete on the icons though

I was also referring to the way he just stood up and left

This happened to me. I thought to myself "fuck it" and decided to buy a new DS charger for £3 from Amazon. 4 months later and I still haven't found my old one.
This kid brought up computer's in homeroom, it went a bit like this:
Me: "Do you build?"
Tard: "Holy shit you build computers?"
Me: "Yeah it's not hard at all. Anyway, what brand do you have then?"
Tard: "Acer, they have better graphics and everything goes extremely fast."
Me (pretty angry): "The fucking brand name doesn't have to do shit with the video card. What games do you play?"
Tard: "Counter-strike acer makes it look amazing on my computer."
Me: "You're a fucking retard."
Hey look someone doesn't know much about computers than I do. Instead of correcting them, I'm going to be an asshole.

I tried to correct her, she wouldn't listen. I didn't include the complete conversation because it was much longer.
