I have been browsing this thread since v.1 and fucked myself up in V. 5
Then why did you say that? It was never like that 'till around v5 because we were starting to run out of content.
Wait why did you disagree with yourself? :psyduck:
Accident
does this make me content?

or does everyone else do this with their main PCs.
What, 16 days uptime ?
I tried to correct her, she wouldn't listen. I didn't include the complete conversation because it was much longer.
You were an asshole though. Just delete it and you won't hear her about it.

I had 30 days worth of uptime on a netbook, had Ubuntu Server on it, had to reboot for kernel update.
So not really. I do 2-3 weeks of uptime regularly on my main computer.
okay because i know most people turn their computers off every night... i would :suicide: having to do that.
The longest time I have had my laptop running is 21 days. Usually I just shut it down if I don't have any good reason to keep it running.
My uptime is normally around 2-3 weeks.
Random power outages knock it out every once in a while. And sometimes when I install something I have to restart. Past that, I never turn it off.

Yeah, I was just wondering if it was what worried him.
I have my computer running for like 1-2 weeks and then i restart it.
My longest uptime was probably just when I was defragging a while back
The only reason I only get about 2-3 weeks of uptime on my main computer is because Windows 7 just starts leaking memory out of every orifice at that point.

Not news - and a solid epic Fail.
About students who work on the 'apples', but under the 'windows' - the most important, I think. If I could not show large monitors and mouse. Operator, to be honest, BUGGER would not stop. I understand that no center channel, but must at least rise above itself.
And about the 'complete lack of benefits from Linux to Windows' - especially from the mouth of the deputy director of IT (!!!). I myself - convinced windows user, but then the move will name a couple. An appeal about the fact that universities use it Windows, so students will be bad - even funny. In general, second Fail - is the complete incompetence of the Comrade. Mitrofanov.
What is 'terminated license' - I do not understand. I still knew about three types of Windows: licensing, cracked and nonactivated. That is, buy the full class of iMac they had the dough, but to buy corporative Windows - did not have either the mind, whether the bubble. It is evident that the teacher in the 'library' (!) Only one (!) Drive home (!!!) 'Seven'.
And the last Fail - is that the student complains that it is now on the school computers will not be able to run games.
I do not know whether it was a wise decision in Surgut management education, but the fact remains: to manage to write so many Fail in one story - it must be able to.
The translation is more of a fail there.
Yeah.
2600 Pro?
:psyboom:
I had a 2600xt, it wasn't that bad when i got it
[editline]16th November 2010[/editline]
2006 I think
2600 Pro?
:psyboom:
It was released back in 2006-2007 and it's somewhat equivalent to 8600gt
I think pro was released after XT, and it wasn't really as good as 8600
[editline]16th November 2010[/editline]
no wait no, I'm thinking about 2900
My brother keeps shutting his computer down by just switching it off, not even shutting it down. Would it be better to just shut it down? Are there any problems that come with just switching it off?

Losing unsaved work. Data can sometimes get corrupted or the occasional program might break, but all in all it's not the end of the world.

Windows' files can in the worst situations get corrupted
Think of it this way. Instead of peacefully falling asleep every night, we're gonna smack you in the head with a bat and knock you out. That's what I'd imagine a computer feels when you just shut down the power.
And same results come from it. Memory loss.
Not exactly computer illiteracy, but RE teachers are dumb.
My RE teachers show a slideshow with learning objectives, etc. No problem there. The problem is that the slide's bright pink with 56 animated clipart GIFs with shitty 3D animations that slow the computer down. Eye rape.
Also, my school never closes programs.
"Argh, this computer is slow!" - some teacher, not realizing that 30 programs running and a Youtube video playing can slow things down.

Exactly, I feel bad for computers when their power gets cut.
Not really illiteracy (again), but I'm currently stuck at campus with a replacement monitor for my laptop. It's only temporary, so I asked the computer club if I could have something old and easy to carry so I could just chuck it away when I'm done with it in two weeks.
They gave me a high-range Dell 19" CRT and made me swear that I'd return it.
Since my desktop is out for some repairs, I dug up an old laptop. It is really slow but enough for browsing and stuff. Before turning it on, I was already prepared to clean up a lot of stuff, such as unneeded programs, documents, run defrags like crazy... Nobody would have missed the deleted stuff, since noone in my family used this computer in ages.
But there was one thing I was not prepared for. The fucking desktop wallpaper.
It was a goddamn 640px wide image, on a beautiful 1280x800 monitor.
My eyes popped out of the sockets, puked and came back.
But again, this is the only computer-related nuisiance I get from my father (he did the same on his account on the desktop, and on the other laptop the screen is set to "plain blue", because the last image he set as a background was saved on a flash drive), then I read tales of Neanderthals trying to pass as fathers from people like Mandrith, Wingless etc.
And at least my father asks me for advice and actually listens. :sigh:

Mandrith deserves a chainsaw, for obvious reasons.
sawing his dads mac in half?

Or perhaps, you know, his face.
