Could have sworn this was the "Computer illiterate people who think they know things" thread. Not the general discussion about slightly computer related things...
That tends to happen when there is a lack of content.
From minecraft forums.
Its an AMD Phenom II X6 1055t.
Im trying to think of a way I can prove that it can handle up to 19.8ghz. Any ideas? Anything on Task Manager>Performance?
EDIT:
Looked in device manager under settings and it shows:
AMD Phenom II X6 1055t Processor
AMD Phenom II X6 1055t Processor
AMD Phenom II X6 1055t Processor

There's been some content, what are you saying.
After weeks of bing absent from this thread, I bring you more content from my illiterate asshole father.
I've been raising money recently to pay for a PC I am building (A $1400 gaming rig with a GTX580 and i7) and my father came up to me while I was counting my funds so far, and told me that I should just buy a Mac becuse they are better and much more powerful. I told him that the iMac we have is shit compared to what I am building, and he said I was spouting bullshit. I yelled at him, and he told me that even if it was more powerful, I'd just use it for games and screwing with other people's computers. I told him that yes, I was going to game on it and don't even know how to hack. He then told me that if I was going to be stupid like this he would just spend the money on a third mac, and told me that % am not allowed to have my own computer, and took $200 (not all of it, thankfully) and put it in the family safe.
I am fucking FINISHED with all this shit my self centered asshole allways thinks he is right dad has been putting me through!
holy shit I know I'm probably five days late but holy shit, you need to get back at him by first getting the money back then doing something like stealing ALL of his socks and taking the shoelaces out of all of his shoes or breaking all the lamps in your house or shitting in the fridge or something

Put cement in his food, makes him shit bricks.
Similar thing happened to me on Pokemon Blue.
Neighbor comes over, grabs game boy and turns on, then he goes "oh hey one of those game thingies" "selects START NEW GAME"
I raged hard, it took me years to get as far as I was in that game.
You think that's bad? I recently lent a friend of mine my flash-drive so he could copy a large file over to his school network folder from his laptop. Turns out there wasn't enough free space on the drive to complete the copy, so he FUCKING HARD REFORMATTED IT WITHOUT ME KNOWING. Needless to say I was pissed, although I kept my cool surprisingly well.
Luckily there was nothing really important on that drive, but it had a lot of old school projects that I wanted to save and a bunch of specially configured shit. Also a bunch of PS3 save-game backups.

Pirating limewire, irony
Yesterday while at school, I was talking to a guy and mentioned that I was building a computer, and he told me that he has built 6 computers. I let a small glimmer of hope in that someone in this damned town wasn't a complete dumbass about computers. I then asked him what parts he would recommend if I wanted to play Crysis on near-max settings. He then told me that "To play Crysis on even low settings you need a $5700 graphics chip created by Apple, that they only put in high end Mac Pros."
*sigh*
I politely told him that that was wrong, and that you could actually play Crysis on a cheap computer, although it wouldn't be able to run anything higher than minimum settings
He then began to tell me that he was more experienced, and that he had even built a Router Stack. When I asked him what a router stack was, he told me that it was a stack of 20 routers wired together that could process anything in a nanosecond. I told him that was not possible, and that you need a processor, RAM, a motherboard and a lot of other parts to have a computer run. He replied with "No you don't, those things are no longer needed with the technology Apple has invented, they can even run two softwares on them"
I asked him what a software was, and he told me "Mac OSX, Windows" I told him that they were supposed to be called an Operating System, and even after 5 minutes of arguing, I couldn't convince him. I then told him that running two "Softwares" wasn't even that special, and you can easily partition a hard drive and put a different OS on each one, such a dual booting Windows Seven and Linux. He told me that was utter bullshit, and "Why would you even buy Linux, its for hackers and costs $500."
Why the hell does this always happen to me?...

I feel so sorry for you, people in my area don't try and act brilliant about computers, they just accept that they can barely log on to Facebook.
What state/country do you live in?

Your posts make me glad my parents now enough about computers not to fuck with mine, and that people I know that don't know anything about computers can fucking ADMIT it.

I'm from texas
I parted out 5 different parts of my old computer to people at school that I hadn't even known. I also started a computer club, and out of 4,000 kids at school, 50 of them came. We have nerdgasms over GPU's and occasionally we bring our computers over to one of their houses to nerdgasm there.
Generally, my parents accept their own computer-illiteracy and ask me for help when they have a problem.

All the redneck stuff in the south seemed fitting.
I feel like I'm making a fool of myself at this point....

Yo dawg, I heard you like torrenting a torrent application...

As someone who's lived in the heart of Mississippi for his entire life, I can tell you that rednecks are pretty much just a myth. Trailer trash is no less common here than it is in the nicest cities.

It's hardly a torrent application. I'd laugh at somebody who used it for bittorrent.
My bro got Limewire pro, and I don't recall him buying it.
Limewire Pro is ridiculously easy to obtain. Limewire doesn't even add ANY sort of authentications to their pro downloading pages. Anyone can just borrow the unique download page link and use it right off the bat.

Going to have to disagree with you. Lived in Virginia for 15 years, and I'm surrounded by incompetent fools. Rednecks, white trash, self-identified "niggas" (their term, not mine), and all kinds of southern stereotypes abound.

I live in the southern area of north carolina.
One of them threatened to piss in my mouth. :saddowns:

Science has proven that there's a correlation between people with low IQ and being violent in nature.
