One of my friends recently found out how to make batch files He used
@echo off :F echo 10101010101001100101010110 echo 01010010101010101010101011 goto :F
Everyone thought he was a hacker... I facepalmed and walked away
When I go to computer stores and they've forgotten to lock their computers, I start up CMD and do REG QUERY HKLM /s. It doesn't do anything to the computer, but people freak out when they walk by it. Especially if you set the colour to 0A before you do it.

Dear god. I am in a Skype conversation with one of my Apple friends, and I told him that I'm saving up for a netbook. He want to know why, and says an iPad is much more useful. Please give me good reasons instead of "A netbook has flash" and stuff. He knows that.
"But you can jailbreak it :downs:"
Ask him why apple have decided to make it so that you have to use 3rd party software to use the iPad to its full potential.
Try dealing with people at my school Random: What are you making? Friend: A game (A mod for Red Alert 3) Random: Will it be like cod? Friend: No, it's a top down game, not an fps Random: What, like Runescape? Friend: No, it's nothing like Runescape Random: What guns can you unlock in it? And that just goes on until the next class
The only gripe I have with this is that you were wrong. When you said it was a top down game and they said "like runescape", technically they were correct? Runescape is top down, they weren't commenting on the game play in terms of objectives, monsters, levels, weapons, etc, they were merely commenting on the fact that it would be from a perspective that is similar.
From what I gather from facebook, an old friend of mine (also distantly related, 2nd cousins or some shit...) bought an Alienware PC for around £1500 and spent another £160 on Windows 7 and a few other pieces of software. Somehow by installing Win7 and the other software he managed to break the PC. I have no idea...

Does it say 'me' in that conversation? It turns out I'm a computer illiterate (atleast Linux illiterate) although I assemble and fix computers, and have installed a virtual network computing system in the 50 computers at the school where I work. Anyway, update everything in Linux Mint 9 (although my linux geek friend said 'just don't'), break Chromium search bar, remove temp files, re-install, still doesn't work, install Firefox, weird GTK+ buttons in every website, install Opera, same thing, try fixing Chromium, ask Linux furries, they laugh at me for not knowing what does ~./ mean, fix Chromium, later convert back to Windows 7 and play some CS:S for my depression because furry Linux guys won't hang out with me anymore.
*My only gripe with that is "random" was wrong. My point still stands. And the poster isn't in that conversation, which is what my reply was about in the first place.

Me:I don't want black ops. other person:Why wouldn't you want black ops? other other person: black ops is bad. [editline]19th November 2010[/editline] I was doing something with command prompt and this person walked in "OMG YOU ARE HAXING!11"
Little shot of memories from the past: I was on holiday in a seaside town I knew pretty well and, since I did not have a laptop with a wi-fi connection, I had to go to a netpoint nearby. It was pretty nice actually: you registered your private account and could use it as a regular computer as long as you paid the weekly fee, which was also cheap. One day I walk in and the store's owner says: "I had to reformat everything for maintenance, so accounts are disabled for a while, they're pretty much public computers for now." I get to a computer, and there's a note close to every monitor saying that saving important files is not recommended, since everyone can view them. I decide to take a peek into the documents folder, and what do I meet? Lots of important-sounding work documents, and naked pictures of various girlfriends. Oh, human stupidity...
Fuck, I was going to ask for them :v:

My dad thinks there's a graphics card for Laptops. I keep telling him RAM dedicated to Graphics aren't the same thing as Graphic Cards. He just won't listen.
My dad thinks there's a graphics card for Laptops. I keep telling him RAM dedicated to Graphics aren't the same thing as Graphic Cards. He just won't listen.
Um, there are integrated ones and graphics cards specially made for laptops last time I checked.

At school in programming class a dude took out the ram of an old computer not plugged in to anything so his would go faster(we're using Celeron D's in programming class). Our teacher then called the computer technician like he was breaking the fucking law. He came in and for a moment I literally thought he was going to pop a gasket. He gave him detention and a long lecture during class, how he doesn't have a degree in computer management, how he has to deal with people like him who jump to conclusions, etc. What was funny was how he opened the case faster then the dude with the so called "computer management" Guy who stole ram out of an unused computer: 10 seconds Dude who was about to smite guy above: 50 seconds
