*On SSH to my new CLI, Arch based Server* "Ah So I see you're using VNC to access the server over the IPv4 Network" "Well you got one thing right, I am using an IPv4 Network, But I'm using SSH not VNC" "Bullshit, SSH only lets you send commands, You can't actually see what the computer see's, You're that stupid?" "No SSH doesn't show you what the server see's but it does allow you a separate own interface, It's more like a second monitor except controlled over a network." "Bullshit, You're an idiot liar, you're using VNC, You just don't know it" Oh lord.
I wish I understood this
I was at school playing the Battlefield 1942 demo on the school computers. Guy from my year walks past. "Is that COD?" :frog:
Today my mum asked me to "download" the photos from her phone to her computer, a minute later I walk up to her and say "Mum I put the photos in my pictures" she responds: "Your pictures? why not my pictures". My dad shits himself laughing
you best put that helmet on
resolution makes a difference you dumb fucks
My friend actually thinks it's bad to jizz on your ram.
For a minute there, I read that as 'arm'.
resolution makes a difference you dumb fucks
Circumstantial you dumb fuck.
Not really computer but tech illiterate. My mom doesn't understand how 3D games work, she's saying there's going to be a new Sony console in 3D because she heard something from a friend. I keep saying, you can make 3D games, but the console won't make a difference. She keeps saying sure sure sure but continues with the NEW CONSOLE MARCH thing.
So the monitor on my laptop magically started working again after being broken for a week. Should I try out the graphics card as well? It might still work...
Sure give it a shot.
I wish I understood this
VNC is software for remote control, SSH is just secured telnet.
Why, whenever Flak posts something, I always think it's either made up, copy-pasted or classifiable as content?
Okay... I'm weirded out now. When running on the integrated Dell graphics, the monitor springs to life, but when I start up the GeForce, it dies again. What's more, the integrated one used to run on the external monitor, and the GeForce spewed artefacts. Now the GF works perfectly on the external, and the Dell chip shuts it off...
VNC is software for remote control, SSH is just secured telnet.
SSH also does some additional "padding" to make it even a bigger pain in the ass to crack what's going on. It also verifies the key is the same as the last time you connected, and if it's not, it tells you and thus you know someone's pulling a MITM attack on you. It's just overall better than Telnet.
Because I'm special like that. I can make people believe it's copy-pasted.
Yes, its secure than telnet, but its more network overload than telnet
Overhead? And does the tiny amount of traffic that ssh requires really matter?
Yes, its secure than telnet, but its more network overload than telnet
Who gives a shit nowadays? We basically have unlimited tubes. I'd be worried if I was connecting to another computer through RF, but yeah, no.
Yes, its secure than telnet, but its more network overload than telnet
Network, not so much. It's just more processor-intensive, since everything it being encrypted.
I was at school playing the Battlefield 1942 demo on the school computers. Guy from my year walks past. "Is that COD?" :frog:
To be fair, they look really similar. [editline]27th November 2010[/editline] Oh wait. 1942. Yeah, fair enough.
To be fair, they look really similar. [editline]27th November 2010[/editline] Oh wait. 1942. Yeah, fair enough.
I dunno, BF1942 looks pretty similar to CoD1 at first glance.
I dunno, BF1942 looks pretty similar to CoD1 at first glance.
I'm gonna get slaughtered for this, but CoD1s Graphics were a tad better than 1942s for obvious reasons. And one could be optimistic and conclude that if he made this mistake, he would have known one of the CoD series better iterations. Red square was fucking epic.
Ass as in what? The wink is such a cliffhanger, I must know what you're thinking!
Dangit, Facepunch!
I dunno, BF1942 looks pretty similar to CoD1 at first glance.
Not at all.
Not at all.
I said FIRST glance. It would probably take me about five seconds to tell, but that's at least second glance, maybe third.
But the person who asked if it was CoD would probably never have heard/seen/played CoD 1-3. [sp]stupidconsolefaggotslolololcodhalolololol[/sp]

[sp]stupidconsolefaggotslolololcodhalolololol[/sp]
Can't really make that assumption. After all, CoD 2 and 3 were quite popular as well. Even CoD1 is somewhat well-known. And if you're going to insult people for not being able to identify a game by five seconds of watching, you should have no problem identifying these three: I'll give you a day. That should be more than enough time, since you think someone should be able to ID a game in a few seconds. Edit: The games were: "Pathways Into Darkness", probably the first survival/horror FPS, and the first shooter Bungie made "Lufia 2: Rise of the Sinestrals", one of the best JRPGs of the Super Nintendo era "Ehrgeiz: God Bless The Ring", itself quite obscure, but noted for being the first real spin-off of the Final Fantasy franchise.
