I hate alliteration, it makes everything sound bad
The computer tower? How don't you know that?
I jest, I haven't heard it being called a tower in some time.
I have a friend that calls it the "maccidy box!"
Marathon, obviously. Marathon: Infinity if I'm not mistaken. Might be Marathon 2 instead.
It's the xbox 360 port of Marathon II. Basically an official high-rez pack, and a redone, minimalized UI. Marathon is a fantastic game on the PC, by the way. On the xbox...Let's just say that I got seasick on the demo. It's got some seriously slick motion and really hurts to play after a while.
Any piece of shit laptop that I've seen or used I call a craptop.
I did this to my dad today: 1) Open Firefox 2) Type
chrome://browser/content/browser.xul
in the address bar. 3) :smug: as my dad shits himself wondering what the fuck's going on
Since we're devolving into farcical argument now: Major premise: Craptop is alliterative Minor premise: People agree with me Igitur I'M RIGHT YOU'RE WRONG. QED.
I just want to point out that craptop isn't an example of alliteration.
fresh from facebook: "You can buy two cheap PCs that will crash, or you can buy one expensive Mac that won't crash..."
fresh from facebook: "You can buy two cheap PCs that will crash, or you can buy one expensive Mac that won't crash..."
Or you can buy one normally priced Mac that rarely crashes and one normally priced PC that rarely crashes.
Paste the url in the next URL box and another one comes up
I am going to do this for many hours [img_thumb]http://img574.imageshack.us/img574/661/ss20101128010308.png[/img_thumb] This is fantastic
You did NOT just say that.
No. I typed it and you misunderstood it gloriously. I've never played this, i can't call it bland. I called "general doom clones" bland. [editline]28th November 2010[/editline]
I would hardly consider one of the first (if not the first) videogame to enable mouse look controls bland. However, I think being accused of living under a rock for not knowing what the name of a Mac game is going a bit too far. (I think it was initially a mac exlusive, but if somebody could clarify if it was or not would be great.)
It doesn't matter if it's "revolutionizing" It still looks and SCREAMS doom clo- Oh fuck! it's THAT GAME! only ever heard of it. How can anyone blame me for not knowing what this game is!? you closeminded fucks!!! this is one of Bungies old games (or is it a port?) And also the sole reason why Halo was advertised as a Mac Exclusive title for an age before going Microsoft. It's got a long history, None of it relates to me in any way and in no way makes it even a mediocre game. The legend of this game is in no way due to grand gameplay or plot... just the controversy of what happened next. I stand by my words, It looks like Bland Doom Clone #447 and General Doom Clones are most always bland.
I am going to do this for many hours [img_thumb]http://img574.imageshack.us/img574/661/ss20101128010308.png[/img_thumb] This is fantastic
currently using 1.48gb of memory for 1 tab
Using Google would be cheating. After all, I was trying to prove a point that you probably can't identify relatively important games just by looking at it for a second. Venturing a decent guess is a fair way to start a conversation about the game, after all. Had whoever started this argument thought "this is my chance to show a console gamer a great PC classic" instead of "ha ha stupid consolefag", things probably would have gone much differently. I had a similar situation back at my high school. Chilling before class, playing Lufia on a SNES emulator (note to mods: I own the game cartridge, as with all my ROMs, making it completely legal). My Algebra teacher walks by and says "Is that Final Fantasy?". I said, "Lufia, actually". We then had a rather nice conversation about classic JRPGs, in which we decided that FF4 is totally overrated.
I try to stay out of the hardware section because I don't know shit about hardware, but I wanted to pop in and tell everyone that all of you need to take a lesson from gman003. You're not a "PC master race", you're a gamer, just like the rest of us. Just to contribute, though, everyone thinks I'm the local tech whiz because I understand external drives and Google. Though I'm guessing that's pretty standard. [editline]28th November 2010[/editline] Oh I told some lady at Wal-mart that you can buy computers online, and often get really good deals. She was surprised for some reason.
Semi-content. A friend of mine is visiting for the month, and he came over and saw the computer I'm building. He asked me about it and I taught him about how building a computer is much better than buying a prebuilt. I think he's considering building one now! :buddy:
You think he's the only one to recognize this? i've addressed the tone and direction of this thread and section countless times. Each time everyone hands out tons of agrees, optimistics and hearts yet no one acts on their own expressed agreement. The attitude and entitlement on this forum is astounding and i find myself cringing more and more. It's reached the point where it's embarrassing and shameful to know that fellow forumites seem to think that playing out this circus is cool. Gets my blood boiling. With hardass idiots like Odellus to look up to, i don't see this trend changing though. Because he's both cool AND good at memorizing stuff he reads. a dangerous cocktail. TL;DR: I agree, people should get a grip.
He didn't mean the factual value but the arrogance associated with it.
If That's true then, I would agree, But it doesn't seem that way.
Just discovered that a year 11 student (i'm a year 7 student) is extremely computer literate, can program in several languages, and does various IT media stuff (graphic design, 3D modelling etc). Just had a long debate with him about OpenGL vs DirectX. (I think I won it.) So glad that there's people out here who are computer literate.
[img_thumb]http://imgs.xkcd.com/comics/sandwich.png[/img_thumb] A classic that had to be posted.
I get it now yay!! (I'm in Training)

Content: I recently took an old pc that wasn't used, formatted it and gave it to my parents to use a media pc, instead of using the ps3 to watch movies on. I made it look half decent using rocketdock, rainmeter and then i made the 2 desktop icons large (CTRL+Mousescroll). My mum thought all the stuff looked pretty cool, so i went upstairs thinking i'd done a good job. Little did i know my dad hated the large icons so he uninstalled pretty much EVERY program (including opera and anti-virus) in an attempt to shrink the icons, clearly it didn't shrink them. So roughly 2 hours of making it half decent gone down the drain D:
