My school uses Macs.

Not necessarily a bad thing.
Apple give huge discounts to education institutions so the kids can try (and probably go home and buy) Macs, getting them while they're young. It was quite likely cheaper than equivalent PCs for your school.
Macs really aren't as bad as you think.

But I like the darkness.

Then go to sleep.
I know it's not that bad. But my school isn't a university or something so only the school gets the discount, we don't. Also, the tech guys wanna get €50,- every hour if your problem isn't covered by the warranty.

I thought there was no way for a tech team to get more exploitative than geek squad, but I was wrong.
That's like 300 in my currency, a whole two weeks worth of savings for me, gone in one hour due to some exploitative dickweed.
I replaced my laptop's graphics card for less.
hurray for Firmware. It just broke. I'm now typing from an onscreen keyboard with an external mouse.

Dear [REDACTED],
I apologize for [NETADMIN]'s uncivil behavior. You are indeed correct, there appears to be a problem with the proxy servers. As for Dropbox, I've never heard of it being used for "illegal file distribution." I know people have used it on campus in the past. I'll have someone take a look at the proxy server settings.
Sincerely,
[DEPARTMENT HEAD OF INFO TECH]

There we have it.
So we're learning about arrays in Java. We currently know 2 kinds.
Static ones, where you have to define a size and adding entries is a tad cumbersome.
Listarrays, which grow dynamically and the methods for adding entries can be coded in a single line.
There's one dipshit who insists that static arrays are better because:
a. You don't have to import java.util
b. Arraylists can only hold objects, not primitives.
c. They're easier to manage (?)

He's right about at least the second one, and regarding the first, with a high-level language like Java it's good to get into memory-saving habits.

50€ an hour is pretty cheap actually.
I ask that to connect someones PC or TV which only takes me 15 minutes.
The officcial service at my store asks 70 and 90€ for that and that is still considered cheap.
Some foolishness of myself.

My aunt's workplace had a screwed up network administration where it cost about $250 to basically hit restart on the machine and they had to do this several times because the network admin had no idea what he was doing and completely fucked the entire thing over to the point where they lost everything.
That administration is now no longer working for the company and they are looking for someone who knows what they're doing. I should opt to join in on it.
Back in my Middle School the IT Department made the master password for all the accounts on our network "tiger", well one day in computer class our idiot of a teacher accidentally put his password in the username spot and made the mistake of saying his mistake out loud.
I didn't use the password, I was a good kid.
also, we were on iMacs. This was back in 2002-2003
our school did that also except the password was jaguar and my 7th grade english teacher had it written down on her desk. i was able to find all of the schools lunch account numbers and grading system all from a teacher account. basically i got free lunch and could've changed my grades, i did do the free lunch part a few times.
