Huh?
I know, I Know. We started fucking around [we really should'nt have] though i guess we bent them back together.
70$ /month ? Holy shit, it's 30€/month without bandwith limits here [editline]e[/editline] You americans are getting ripped off
Enjoying my 3mbit down/1mbit up for 36 euro/month bitches
Then again, this is the kid who tried to fix a broken power plug. By sticking in a knife and fork to "get the dirt out". While it was still on. Unfortunately, a teacher intervened.
First off when you say broken power plug? The plug is the part with the prongs, so I am wondering how he got a knife and fork into that. Unless you mean the socket, then okay I can see how you can get a knife and fork in the socket. Second, you were sitting in class and he just happened to pull out a metal knife and fork? Do you guys always carry silverware around with you? While what was still on? Do you mean while the power was still on? Because if the electronic device was still on, that is impressive since it would have to be unplugged for him to do any of this. This story just radiates "made up".

Stop being so anal.
I'm sure he meant the power socket, which I'm sure you'll know has a switch which turns on the mains power to the socket.
Your outlets have switches on them?
Do you mean a power strip or a actual socket, because I have never seen a socket with a button to turn on/off the main power flow to it.
Your outlets have switches on them?
I live in britain, kneel before our mighty three pronged plugs and sockets with switches on them. Regardless of that pointless detail sticking metal shit into a power socket is not a good idea. Edited my post so it's more clear what I was talking about.
yeah [img_thumb]http://www.istockphoto.com/file_thumbview_approve/5280374/2/istockphoto_5280374-switch-on-power-with-british-plug-and-electricity-socket.jpg[/img_thumb] Regardless of that pointless detail sticking metal shit into a power socket is not a good idea.
Learned that at the age of three. And again at age 7.
Learned that at the age of three. And again at age 7.
Well apparently the kid who that guy was talking about on the other page didn't.

Stop being so anal.
Electrical safety master race. Why is it the UK/ Eu countries really only seem to be the only ones with such simple safety measures?
It's called control panel not registry files. All you really did was change one setting then unplugged a keyboard. If anything I want to slap you.
RegEdit allows you to change functions of the mouse you know?
RegEdit allows you to change functions of the mouse you know?
so does the control panel
Electrical safety master race. Why is it the UK/ Eu countries really only seem to be the only ones with such simple safety measures?
it's a CONSPIRACY by the bush administration to make sure every american electrocutes themself
Electrical safety master race. Why is it the UK/ Eu countries really only seem to be the only ones with such simple safety measures?
US uses 120v, not 240v. Thus, a shock is less damaging, therefore the danger is decreased.
US uses 120v, not 240v. Thus, a shock is less damaging, therefore the danger is decreased.
Voltage is not the killer, the amperage is still enough in either country to kill instantly. The amperage has to be at least 0.008 amps to kill, US outlets are at 50!
US uses 120v, not 240v. Thus, a shock is less damaging, therefore the danger is decreased.
Isn't it the amperage that damages? Not only did that almost rhyme I also got ninja'd. FfffFFFff.
US uses 120v, not 240v. Thus, a shock is less damaging, therefore the danger is decreased.
Half the Volt, double the Amps. Also explains why their electrical wires over there are thicker than the one's use in Europe. Would go into detail about it, but the short story is: the more Amps, the thicker wiring needed. Also explains why they transform the power up to higher Voltages and lower Amps for when "transporting" it with air lines, or cables dug down into the ground with a cable.
Isn't it the amperage that damages?
Yup.
We do have those. GFIC outlets. Go in your bathroom/kitchen, you'll notice two little buttons on it. If it detects a short, it'll trip, cutting power. Although those are really only used anywhere where water is a common thing. Outlets with switches I mean. You can push one of the buttons to turn it off.
I've got none in the bathroom but there's one in the kitchen.
What the hell are you doing in my grandmother's house No really, it's EXACTLY the same in her house too, none in the bathroom and one like that in the kitchen...
What the hell are you doing in my grandmother's house No really, it's EXACTLY the same in her house too, none in the bathroom and one like that in the kitchen...
I was going to say I was plowing her but then I realized that would be just as bad for both of us. anyway the kitchen was redone a few years back, the bathroom is the one that was originally in the house when it was built 40 years ago
That'd make sense, back then it might not have necessary according to electrical code to have them/they might not have been around then. More modern homes would have 'em.

I was downloading something on my mom's laptop. My dad walks in, and says "how much memory is that using?" I told him 2 gigs. "2 gigs!? JESUS CHRIST!! ITS ONLY GOT FOUR TO BEGIN WITH!!" It's a 4 gig processor with over 200 gigs of RAM on it... -_-
