How is it safe? It doesn't have a switch, the most basic of all things.
How do switches make it safer? If you're managing to get bits of metal into tiny recessed holes in the wall you have other issues that need dealing with
I have a switch on the power supply of my computer, it still doesn't make it safe for me to rub my face on the damn thing while it's on.
Europlug
It's called Schuko, dammit. /raging electrician.
How do switches make it safer? If you're managing to get bits of metal into tiny recessed holes in the wall you have other issues that need dealing with
And how is that not making it safer? It's stopping hundreds of children from becoming electrocuted, when normally they would be killed from the constant current flow of electricity.
Unrelated note, today at school a friend of mine brought an old Olivetti laptop/portable calculator thing. The manual said "copyright 1992" but it somehow looked older, like late 80's. It could write MOTHERFUCKING NOTES and CALCULATE SHIT with its goddamn CALCULATOR, fuck yeah! It can even remember PHONE NUMBERS AND SHIT, FUCKING AWESOME! It looked so cute... :3: I'd choose one of this over 100 iPads, it was fucking great.
I'd choose just about anything over an iPad. It's too heavy to carry along with you, and it doesn't have enough functions to be a stationary unit. Oh, and it's way too expensive to be one of those digital picture frames.
I have a switch on the power supply of my computer, it still doesn't make it safe for me to rub my face on the damn thing while it's on.
Hey! I've done maintenance on running PCs - mostly clearing dust from fans and checking that everything's plugged in right, but it's not that dangerous.
How do switches make it safer? If you're managing to get bits of metal into tiny recessed holes in the wall you have other issues that need dealing with
So that you can stop the magical flow of electricity from coursing through your blender in case it bursts into fire or something. Aren't powerpoints without switches always on? ie. not very safe at all because you can't stop the flow of electricity without tripping the circuit breakers.
any old phone # in it ?
Nope, the archive was empty. But still, it was pretty cool for such an old device.

guys stop talking about euro plugs and start getting some content sudo apt-get --reinstall install content
guys stop talking about euro plugs and start getting some content sudo apt-get --reinstall install content
package 'content' not found
guys stop talking about euro plugs and start getting some content sudo apt-get --reinstall install content
Password for sudo:
And how is that not making it safer? It's stopping hundreds of children from becoming electrocuted, when normally they would be killed from the constant current flow of electricity.
yeah it's also ruining the concept of darwinism
Password for sudo:
facepunch
Pepper;26487218']facepunch
"user" is not on the sudoers list! This has been reported. You have mail.
"user" is not on the sudoers list! This has been reported. You have mail.
but all users are on the sudoers list in ubuntu!
but all users are on the sudoers list in ubuntu!
But the Facepunch server does not run Ubuntu!
But the Facepunch server does not run Ubuntu!
but nobody with any sense concerning security installs sudo on servers and ubuntu is the only distribution with it preinstalled!
What's that one Linux distro that formats your hard drive whenever you type a command wrong in terminal?
but nobody with any sense concerning security installs sudo on servers and ubuntu is the only distribution with it preinstalled!
I dunno about Linux distros, but OpenBSD comes with sudo by default. Of course, the default sudoers file is basically "only root can use sudo, and it has to reenter it's password to do so, and it's all logged". Fucking pain in the ass to change too.
What's that one Linux distro that formats your hard drive whenever you type a command wrong in terminal?
What the hell
What the hell
I can't find any data on that distribution, you're sure you spelled it right?
What's that one Linux distro that formats your hard drive whenever you type a command wrong in terminal?
That would be as stressful as diffusing a bomb every time you wanted to look up a file.
That would be as stressful as diffusing a bomb every time you wanted to look up a file.
Install it in a office environment. Hire average office worker. Threaten with legal action if they loose files claiming they are "important personal documents", watch as they curl into the fetal position.
That would be as stressful as diffusing a bomb every time you wanted to look up a file.
Suspense during the workdays
