CONTENT AGAIN!
My network administrator sent me a handwritten letter today.

Dear [REDACTED],
This is your final warning. I've had it with you going over my head to the top of the IT department. I saw you hacking something, and you just tried to hide it by saying it was a game. You will NOT get away with this any longer. To make sure you won't try this again, come by the HelpDesk at your earliest convenience so I can personally wipe and restore your computer. I will NOT tolerate a no for an answer. You will be suspended if you do not comply with this order.
Thank you,
[Dipshit McDumbfuck]

I called the head of the IT department, made an appointment in a location away from this guy, showed her the letter and the game. She was horrified and said that she would take action against this immediately. I wonder what that means. Maybe I'll get this shithead fired.

What game was it?

He's staring at the new Macbook (0.001 mm thinner than the previous one he already owns) in a catatonic state, drooling and making embarassing noises.
Like everyone in there, so everyone forgot about him. Even himself.

Uplink. I can see why he'd think that, but even after trying to explain it to him, he wouldn't buy it, as shown above. There's a couple other posts earlier in this thread illustrating my escapades with this douche.
You know, when smart people are given power, good things happen.
So yeah, he's fired.
Sorry about not replying. My dad thought that they didn't get viruses up until about a month ago, when he saw some news report on a Mac virus. Now he actually believes that they can get viruses.

Oops. Missed an entire page.
Tell me you got recognition for being right.

IT Guy: "OMG TEH INTERFAIC IS LIEK CSI HACKZORZ!"
IT Guy: "OMG TEH INTERFAIC IS LIEK CSI HACKZORZ!"
That's extremely accurate.
That's extremely accurate.
Use Visual Basic to make a GUI interface to track your IT Guy's home IP address, then hack his computer using a backdoor in the BIOS of his motherboard. :downs:

I had multiple first PCs. I'm pretty sure my Dad made his own computer from the ground up (using an altair 8080). The first commercial PC we got had DOS on it and was connected to a network with hundreds of games.
After that, we got Windows 95 and my Dad pretty much experimented with that and helped with problems with friends and family. This was my favorite part of Win95 by far.
Then why did a smart, nice woman marry such an apocalyptic douchebag, let alone procreate with him?
Should I feel sorry for the whole family's fate?
My mum married an asshole too. Only now is dad realising that he is an asshole, after everyone in the house won't have a conversation with him.

Go at the helpdesk with a small 40GB HDD with OpenBSD on it, remove the CD Drive.

I bet it was hand written so it wouldn't be on his email and now when the head of the department confronts him he'll be like "I didn't write that, he must have forged the letter."

His dad and him probably got into a huge argument and his dad probably threw his ps2 and computer out of the window by now. Either that, or his dad fucking killed him or cut the internet wires.

Thank you for reminding me of the countless hours my eight-year-old self spent in a trance watching this.
That was on win98, but still...

my uncle bought one and bragged about it for a week, then he realised it was useless to him because he didn't have any internet connection
so he gave it to my sister for like 3 months and she thought it was the greatest thing ever because she is simple and easy to amuse
then he got it back and wanted to sell it or something because he realised it was useless even with the ability to download shit
there is no way anyone can deny that it is a ipod touch with a larger screen
I played with an iPad in the best buy store today. it was the most useless piece of hardware I've ever used.
I did the same a few days ago - but I wouldn't call it useless. It would be good just as a cheap secondary computer. Maybe a porn-browsing machine or something - low power, long endurance web browsing. If the price gets to $200 or so, I might get one, and I wouldn't toss it out if someone gave me one for free.
In my computer class we were testing molex cable voltages, and a guy had the multimeter ground in a live connector and kept wondering why he felt like he was getting shocked...
Well there's one thing PC users and Mac users can agree on. iPad is a piece of shit that serves no better purpose than a cheaper iPhone, while being smaller and portable.
