sounds like a really good time to stop living with daddy
Sounds like a really good ban reason.
sounds like a really good time to stop living with daddy
Sounds like a really good time to shut the hell up.
On my Logitech "gamer" keyboard (a gift) I can't press "W" + "Shift" + "Space" at the same time. Aka, in games I need to sprint and jump, I'm fucked.
I once had a incredibly shitty keyboard. I couldn't even press Control+C together, much less W and A/D. I turned it in the same hour I bought it. Literally.
Yeah, makes a lot more sense to just cry about how dumb dad is and then play the eye-for-an-eye game with him.

This thread makes me so glad that my parents leave me to handle my computer, except in cases where I have no idea what the fuck is wrong.
I'd like to nominate myself: http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1025319-2-small-unrelated-questions-regarding-hardware. Almost destroyed my PC :v:
Just had some girl ask me on Facebook how to hack someone's password. Oh dear. Told her she'd have to start trying every combination possible... At least she realized that'd be a dumb idea.

Apparently at my school when the network card fails, it means they need to try reinstalling the OS first. These 'new' computers are so good ctrl+z causes them to lock up. They actually downgraded the video cards from last year's computers and they threw those in the dumpster. Should have taken one. [editline]42[/editline] They crash when playing minecraft. They're $1200 computers.
@Activeellis you both sound like idiots there.
@Activeellis you both sound like idiots there.
I was seeing if he would believe me or react to bad grammar.
You're forgetting that 64bit OS'es can have... Well I don't know the exact number, but it supports way more RAM than what a normal person can afford.
You're forgetting that 64bit OS'es can have... Well I don't know the exact number, but it supports way more RAM than what a normal person can afford.
Over 128gb.

Some days ago me and some friends decided to pay a visit to the local mall to grab some food/alcohol/a movie for the evening. For the latter, we went into Media World, and here I noticed a desk with a rather large Apple logo near it. They had 5 iPads and an iMac open to the public. None of the iPads fucking worked properly, they were all out of battery. Except one, which was set to another language, which seemed like traditional Chinese to me. The employees around were not giving a fuck. Now, given my visceral hatred for the Apple company in general, my mind started producing dirty thoughts... I don't think anyone will notice me doing anything, since that isle is pretty much empty most of the time, and apparently no cameras cover that area, or at least they won't see me drawing dicks and setting them as background, or fiddling with the terminal. So, fuck with some iThings next time I go there y/n?

Ellis: Windows XP Only utilizes 2gb ram. Ellis: The only OS that utilitizes 8gb atm is linux. shut the fuck uppppppp
I bring more content: Got to discussing Unreal with some kid in my Web class. He said he played UT3 on his PS3. I told him a) UT2004 is far better and b) play it on a pc. He countered with "I have a great computer and I can't even run UT3". Considering the crap I've run UT3 on (single-core Athlon and a Radeon X700, for one), I called bullshit, and asked him what his specs were. He said "it's one of those new i5s". I ignored the fact that i5 is "above average" for a new processor, and asked about the graphics card. Integrated, probably Intel, he wasn't sure. I pointed out that that was obviously his problem. He countered with "well, I can't put my 8800 in a laptop, now, can I?". Face, meet palm. I told him that my laptop had a GF 9600; he was literally unaware that you can have a discrete GPU in a laptop. Of course, since class resumed immediately after I said that, he was probably left thinking I have an actual 9600 card inside my laptop. I'll disillusion him next week.

IT department fail: they got McAfee on all of the PCs, McAfee has the highest false positive rates ever and stuff. All of the PCs are very in-secure because you can do whatever the hell you want (if you know what to do, e.g. CMD.exe) and I was able to MAKE A ADMIN ACCOUNT (a few) onto the school PCs and network, lmfao.
Well, he's still probably correct, as usually when you get integrated graphics in a laptop, there is no GPU expansion option.
No, he was honestly thinking "a laptop can't have a proper GPU". Even if I did just misunderstand him, an i5 and an integrated Intel GPU does not make "a great computer".
One?
Ellis: Windows XP Only utilizes 2gb ram. Ellis: The only OS that utilitizes 8gb atm is linux. shut the fuck uppppppp
That's completely untrue. OS X will use 64 terrabytes if you let it. Pretty sure Windows 7 also supports some ungodly amount. Probably Linux, too.
That's completely untrue. OS X will use 64 terrabytes if you let it. Pretty sure Windows 7 also supports some ungodly amount. Probably Linux, too.
Considering OS X and linux are very similar (and based on the same system), linux would in fact support the same ungodly amount. 64 bit also just generally supports more memory than 32 bit, so 32 bit Windows OS's support 3 GB and 64 bit is another story.
