Are you on a MAC?
Hey man, Steam never crashes for me on my Mac.
Everyone I know who uses steam says it's a terrible program. And I know first hand that it crashes constantly.
I've been using Steam for years, it doesn't crash constantly. It's your PC.
I get non-responsive steam sometimes, but after I got windows 7 I'm fine.
Apparently, knowing the difference between a DDoS and actual hacking makes me a whizzkid now. Seriously, who still uses that word?
Since when was typing a 4 to 12 digit string of numbers + dots into a program hacking?
Content: My friend thinks alienware is the answer to everything. Also this fat kid I know claims his dad bought him a $8000 alienware. I asked him what graphics card it had, he replied "gtx 295 sli, it's the best" I just laughed and called him a lying idiot.
My mom just said that the internet doesn't work. Mom: The intenret doesn't work, come and help me! Me (jokingly) : Turn the internet on! Mom : It is on! I go over there and what do i see? She pressed the wifi button to turn off the internet.
I saw someone talking to his friends in the computer store today. He said stuff like "Dude, look at this iMac, I'm getting it soon!" "The iPad is nothing compared to this iMac" (Oh, really?) "The iMac is the best computer around, you can't get anything better" "It's actually relatively cheap" :eng99: [editline]8th December 2010[/editline] Also my internet is broken, so I'm using my phone as a modem. :science:
Suddenly, phone call :science:.
Suddenly, phone call :science:.
In fact I don't think that it would interrupt the internet connection.
Ugh, iTunes sucks. I try to move movies to my iDevice. Won't let me. I have to activate manual file management which REMOVES ALL FILES FROM THE IDEVICE. Great. I get my iDevice set up. I buy something online and want to print a receipt. Well, too fucking bad, AirPrint was removed in the latest iTunes. I want to move my mp3s back to my computer after a reformat. Too fucking bad, you can't take anything but pictures off of the device. Have to resort to alternative software like CopyTrans and whatnot. + an endless list of limitations and freeze issues and ugh. I mean for fuck's sake, if a program takes 2 minutes, frozen, to apply some artwork on an album on a Q9450, 6GB of RAM, then you know you have one shitty fucking program. /rant But I do really wish that Apple would just go back to what they were doing with the fifth generation iPod and let us drag and drop already.
i really like winamp i currently have all the computers in my house running winamp with their library imported from my home theatre on the network, and each winamp is set watch that folder and rescan on every startup so when i rip things to my htpc it is automatically added to every other computer's winamp library (once it opens and scans in the background of course) it is really neat, provided i keep the htpc on all the time, which i can do [editline]9th December 2010[/editline]
It's funny because I've never had a problem with steam, not even a crash.
i've been using steam since 2004 and i'd be lying if i said it never had problems raise your hand if you've ever had to delete clientregistry.blob to get your steam to update raise your hands again if steam has ever locked up, even if it was brief, when updating or launching a game shit happens. i still love steam, but saying it's crash or problem free is a lie
My friend was over yesterday, I told him to boot up my PC while I went to the toilet. He saw the case and when I came back he was all 'Coolermaster!? Who the hell are they? Dell is the best man..'
My friend was over yesterday, I told him to boot up my PC while I went to the toilet. He saw the case and when I came back he was all 'Coolermaster!? Who the hell are they? Dell is the best man..'
that is just SAD
Not really... If you've never built a computer or anything I can see you not knowing Cooler Master. Saying Dell is the best.... Ehhh, I've never had a problem with Dell, but I wouldn't say they were the best either. Unless we're talking about monitors. They're awesome in my opinion.
I hate how my sister thinks it's necessary to shout when the Internet is being slow or something is lagging.
[img_thumb]http://img255.imageshack.us/img255/4976/thisisarealcomputer.jpg[/img_thumb]
That guy is still an asshole.
I set my command prompt text to green. Sue me, it's actually easier on the eye.
I'm on about people who walk past and think that.

I'm not all that concerned about him not knowing how to fix computers, or that she doesn't know what a heatgun is. but why was the computer in the snow?
So today I was at an electronics shop and there were 2 dudes speaking and one said "Don't buy that one(points at a laptop), it has slow internet"
i've been using steam since 2004 and i'd be lying if i said it never had problems raise your hand if you've ever had to delete clientregistry.blob to get your steam to update raise your hands again if steam has ever locked up, even if it was brief, when updating or launching a game shit happens. i still love steam, but saying it's crash or problem free is a lie
Honest to the non-existent god, I've never even had to delete the clientregistry or even had a lockup. The only time I've had to re-install steam is for re-installing windows or something, Or the time when I moved it from a different partition.
the OSX version of steam has some issues where windows randomly open at times and words that pop-up when you hover over something sometimes get stuck on the screen.
I'm not all that concerned about him not knowing how to fix computers, or that she doesn't know what a heatgun is. but why was the computer in the snow?
The spit roasting idea is an obvious joke, but I literally have no idea what the fuck he's talking about with regards to unfreezing the cpu with a heatgun.
I was at my local computer shop looking for parts to upgrade my dad's old p4 computer. When suddenly they are two guys going around at the section for the cases and one of the guy was like, "this (points at a cooler master case) will make your computer run faster". Then he points to a cooler master HAF 912, and he said, "this will make your computer last up to 8 hours of uptime". He called me a dumbass for trying to correct him. I mean come on, I just told him that the only important thing about cases is the space. I am happy that the idiot doesn't work at the store. And the store technician tends to call the processor a motherboard.

Sorry if this is the wrong place, but how would I go about finding the native resolution of a very old CRT? I just pulled it out to use as a second monitor
