Might want to correct people instead of throwing around idiot.
Well, the 260 pretty much is a 5770 without Dx11, plus at a higher price.
Well, the 260 pretty much is a 5770 without Dx11, plus at a higher price.
Exactly, this is what he should have posted.
Exactly, this is what he should have posted.
if I went around explaining exactly why everyone was wrong I'd never be able to leave although 90% of the time I'd be pasting "if you don't fully know what you're talking about, shut up" like in this thread
Will there be a big performance boost from my old graphics card which is a GeForce 5500FX?
There has never been a bigger failure of hardware than that. Picking anything out of the modern selection will be a humongous improvement beyond your wildest dreams. :P Also, Nvidia's offerings are really sub-par atm. They're expensive, without as much bang for the buck and the high performance cards are beaten by ATI as well. Instead of a 260 I believe you could get a 4890. Or a 5000 series which is simply superior in terms of image quality and features.

On the downside though, ATI's drivers are definitely sub-par when compared to nVidia's. I still definitely recommend one of the newer ATI cards though. I adore my 5850.
Naw, the latest drivers are really nice actually. They lack the comprehensive profiling system of Nvidias drivers, but they come out like clockwork each month and each update brings increased stability and performance. I haven't heard of any major problems with ATI's drivers since something like 8.x We are now on 10.1 I believe.
While the 5770 isn't completely amazingly awesome, it's still a very good card. And holy fuck, from a GeForce 5500 to an ATi 5770... The performance boost I got by upgrading from my old GeForce 5700 to a Geforce 6600GT was fucking huge, so I can't even imagine what kind of boost you'll experience. Edit: Even though I'm quite sure your CPU'll bottleneck the hell out of it.
we need to know full system specs and a site we can use
And this And a good site you can use is www.jimmspc.fi
You need a new processor too, Pentium D? That's gonna bottleneck it a good amount. Any other sites you can use?
You need a new processor too, Pentium D? That's gonna bottleneck it a good amount. I ordered this mobo http://www.jimmspc.fi/tuote/P5QL-CM?t=false
Btw. I ordered this mobo http://www.jimmspc.fi/tuote/P5QL-CM?t=false
cancel it or something save until you have a good €500-700 then come ask us about getting a new system
cancel it or something save until you have a good €500-700 then come ask us about getting a new system
I'am not gonna get that much cash, I just want a small upgrade for my comp so that it wont lag when playing games.
Which games do you play
Which games do you play
Gmod, Css, Farcry 2, to name a few
Yeah you're going to need a new motherboard and cpu.. I'm looking for some international shipping pc sites. is 100 euros your absolute maximum?
I'am not gonna get that much cash, I just want a small upgrade for my comp so that it wont lag when playing games.
you're not going to get a worthwhile upgrade without replacing enough parts that you're just making a new build anyway
About 130 euros for the cpu, but I dont think I need a new mobo since the mobo i'am getting is good enough to satisfy my needs. [editline]05:43PM[/editline]
you're not going to get a worthwhile upgrade without replacing enough parts that you're just making a new build anyway
Then i'am basically building a new comp, but I already have some parts ordered, I just need advice for processors that are compliant for the new mobo I ordered.
You bought a new motherboard? If the new motherboard you bought is the one in the picture, it's not new lol
You bought a new motherboard? If the new motherboard you bought is the one in the picture, it's not new lol
I ordered this mobo http://eshop.bit2u.biz/en/computer_components/motherboards/asus/asus_intel_socket_775/ASUS_S775_IG43_VGA_DDR2_SATA2_GBLAN_MATX.html I didn't buy the mobo in the pic.

Idk if your current memory is 2x512mb or ddr 667 or something slower. Get cpuid and see what kind of ram you have. http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php
cancel the order, get an i5 750 and a 1156 MoBo there isn't much point in getting a 775 MoBo now because there will be no more 775 CPUs and so you're just going to have to spend even more next time you upgrade [editline]06:07PM[/editline]
http://eshop.bit2u.biz/en/computer_components/cpu/intel_processory/intel_core_2_quad/INTEL_CORE_2_QUAD_Q8400_2_66G_4M_S775.html
lolQ8
-snip- He hasn't said anything about cancelling the order...
http://eshop.bit2u.biz/en/computer_components/cpu/intel_processory/intel_core_2_quad/INTEL_CORE_2_QUAD_Q8400_2_66G_4M_S775.html Try and get that. That's DDR, your new board uses DDR2. It's not compatible.
That's DDR, your new board uses DDR2. It's not compatible.
I've also ordered 2GBs of RAM. [editline]06:29PM[/editline]
That's DDR, your new board uses DDR2. It's not compatible.
Now I need some advice, what would be the best CPU I get for around 150USD?
Dude why didn't you tell us this lol. Did you get 2x1gb sticks or just one 2gb stick?
2x1gb
I've also ordered 2GBs of RAM. [editline]06:29PM[/editline] Now I need some advice, what would be the best CPU I get for around 150USD?
Just cancel the order. You can get so much better.
If your not gonna return the stuff get the Q8200. It's still a great cpu. My friend has a q6600 and a 5770 and everything he plays is fine.
