The only window or lamp in my room is to the side of me, but I would much prefer matte any day. I really don't like glossy.
I like the glossy screens :downs:
I love my glossy screen at 9am-11am sun comes through my window, and i'm right next to my window (the monitor could fall out the window if i didn't secure it. so they're nice when there's no sun.
I don't like the glossy screens from HP. Seems really pointless and more of an annoyance for the sake of "looking pretty" than a functional choice. Not sure how a glossy screen makes it :airquote:more vivid:airquote:.

And it makes it so the colors aren't washed out
Dr Egg, that would be the HP Envy 15. Looks damn nice, but I think they're expensive. [editline]10:55PM[/editline] Yep, the cheapest one is AU$2,799
haha ouch. But yeah that is the one I meant.
1201N is great
Asus is by far my favorite brand of Laptops because of my experience with them. HP is pretty cheap on the build quality. Lenovo is a hit-or-miss either it's great or isn't particularly good. Just get something solid from either brand, they are usually pretty much the same.
Lenovo is great for Schools and offices.
